Default Well, it WAS a beautiful day

You know, first real Spring day, low 70's and sunny. Change the oil, drop the top, go to fill her up with gas and check for leaks, then about 2 miles from the house...WHAM! Some stupid SOB shows up to ruin it for me. I was in the right turn lane waiting for traffic to clear, and I guess he thought he didn't need to stop, claims he was looking left and my car was just so low he didn't see it...BS!!!

What a waste of a pristine, <36K mile '04 CE vert. I'm so pissed..

I guess the only good thing is that no one was hurt. It just doesn't make me feel any better.

Rear end and left quarter will need to be replaced:

But the trunk corner will never be the same:
Interior:

Exterior:

Again, happy that nobody got hurt. LEO showed up, got out of his car then got a call and immediately left. After 30 minutes he came back and said he got called to an accident with injuries related to a motorcycle wreck so someone had a worse day than me.

Wow, it figures. Sorry to see that. Maybe you could do something cool with the repairs, like do flared rear fenders and a custom bumper.. the one with the subtle spoiler built into it. Good luck with the repairs and keep us posted.

OMG! Doesn't that just grit your craw!

And I'm sure you're going through the ....."If I'd only left sooner, or later, or turned left, or turned right, or stayed a little longer at the gas station.......... this wouldn't have happened".

But of course it has..........and you are right, at least you weren't hurt....the motorcyclist down the road would probably eagerly change situations!

Sorry to see this happen, a pity that there are irresponsible people out there that cause these things, seek out a really good body shop that will make it look as good as new.

Yeah, I guess the sky (and my bank account) is the limit with mods now, was planning on keeping her stock, but whats the point now.

My wife said "well, you can get another one", but then she started to back pedal "well, maybe not right away". I guess she was feeling sorry for me, but then realized maybe she went a little too far.

Exactly did that, I thought about washing it first, but changed my mind 'cause it was so nice out. Can't change it now.

I do have a good body man to call, and he's a good friend so once the insurance co looks at it, he'll be getting it.

There's so many careless drivers these days it's just incredible. Like others have said, at least no one was injured. Hope you get it back on the road soon as good as new.

Bastard! There should be an extra penalty on drivers hitting a corvette.

Good luck on the repair.

Since your inner tub is already screwed up I vote go minitub rather than flares (also I think it just looks better, more stealthy).

Sorry but how does a mini-tub look better than flares? With a tub you really can't tell you've done anything (aside from the few potentially recognizing larger tires from the back). With flares, the car clearly stands out as different than just about every other C5 on the road.

Flares all the way.

Because it takes a car that already has a nice but large rear end and makes it have a way too big rear end, like going from a spicy latina to a lady of wal-mart.

Maybe that's just me, I think a giant rear end with a tiny front end looks silly on a front engine sports car and have more interest in subtly flared front fenders personally. Need more tire up front to support that V8.

Opens the floodgates to all new possibilities.
Glad no one was injured, nothing you can do to change that, so enjoy an entire new route.

Be thankful your safe and not hurt, has much has it hurts you to see your car, it can be repaired just like new in time for summer.
