Default Corvette Driver Faces Charges for Accident That Left Friend in Comma

Here’s a guy that never, ever deserved to own a Corvette, is a complete disgrace to the nameplate, and should be banned from ever driving one again.

Who the hell runs away after severely injuring their buddy, or anyone else for that matter? What's the logic, there's nothing I can do and police are coming anyway? I'm pretty sure running from the scene of an accident is worse than a DUI but if it's not it should be.

Let's take the Corvette out of the picture for a moment (I agree with the ban of driving one.), regardless what his family says, he SHOULD rot in jail forever.

This guy has a history and has been charged for prior collisions, but even worse, he drinks and gets behind the wheel of a car, totals the Corvette, and has NO REGARD FOR HUMAN LIFE, leaving his passenger to die in the car.

I ask you, is that a person you want "roaming" through your community, be it on foot OR driving? I think not!

Default Driver not worthy of owning a vette

This driver makes all Corvette owners look bad. I will hazard a guess and say he definitely did not pay for this Vette. Otherwise he would have taken better care of it and driven sensibly. RD

This guy has no values that are commendable. He is a poor excuse for a human being and should be dealt the harshest penalty possible. Never to drive a vehicle again..PERIOD!!!!

Unfortunately, some who drink and drive and get caught, plead that they are remorseful, then go and do it again. This guy should have his license pulled as prescribed by law. A drunk drive can kill others while driving a Toyota Camry or any other car, not just a Corvette, but I understand the outrage here on the forum.

Guy definitely deserves to have his license pulled for a long, long time, as well as some jail time for DUI. Plus he should be required to pay for his friend's medical bills. Hopefully his friend also tells him to take a hike.

Whoever does the front page for this website is obsessed with Corvette accidents. Always seems to be the lead article when I come here.

May have to change my bookmark to go straight to the forums.

Everyone makes mistakes, Some are more severe than others. Maybe this will be a wakeup call for him. I don't think he deserves to rot in jail forever but he needs some jail time along with his license being taken away for a long time.

I couldn't agree more. Although rotting in jail for this POS is way to good plus why should tax payers have to pay for him to live. I say let everybody save some coin and give him the needle. There done one less a$$hole off the planet.

Can't get a DUI if they can't find you. He'll be liable for the accident obviously, but "oh I was stunned officer, no idea, just wondered off" doesn't nail that person with a DUI. That's assuming they don't find you .2 miles away still drunk.

Best wishes to the passenger and hopefully the driver gets his life in order. Not like he took an axe to group of nuns, he deserves jail time, but not his entire life. I am sure he did not want to put his friend in a coma and smash up his corvette.

taking his license won't do anything, it definitely doesn't keep someone from driving... those who get their license taken away obviously don't follow the law anyway so giving them another law to abide by will not solve the problem... if his friend makes a full recovery then this guy needs to do some serious time, if his friend dies in the coma then give him a life sentence... I'm usually all for the death penalty but in this case he wasn't trying to murder, rob, or rape anyone, he just made a really really stupid mistake

When I see events like this I don't really "tie" a certain brand or make of car to it, its just bad judgement on display. My friend, as a teenager, had a 3 cylinder Ford Escort that is a little more suitable to guys like this.

There is a price to pay......its expensive!!
