made the foglight " vent/inlet/hole/duct " functional
ever since i lowered the car more than stock bolts could max and added front lip/splitter, I had minor heating issues (coolant temp)
decided to make the useless fog light inlet/vent/hole/duct or whatever you may call them functional, so i made these
functional was my biggest concern. I didnt care too much how it looks or materials i used. If i wanted i could have made them into single piece plastic or full carbon fiber.but that would be unnecessary they would be covered up by the bumper and mesh grill
yes they made huge improvement on coolant temps
dont flame too hard haha and hope yall like it
the mock up
fully installed, I used acrylonitrile butadiene styrene plastic
fully installed and tested, you cant even see them

Nice idea and great execution. I would add a screen or grille to that area to prevent debris from getting in your engine bay. Lightweight stuff may only block airflow or get things dirty, but larger/heavier objects could cause internal damage.

thats a great idea, but i dont like how it looks
thanks man

theirs actually a screen/mesh/grill on it, its just sits further back and its hard to see on the pictures, ill snap a few later
thanks man, much appreciated, i have few local guys that seen it wanting to make them something similar, great idea

I don't have a heat problem.
But I still like what you have done.
My vette would look good with your idea.

To be honest if i had some pictures or someone guiding me making these it would have been done so easily, but i had to completely come up which took a lil bit of time. Once i was able to make the final design, i made the two piece in 1 hour, I designed them to be slipped on to fit snug, so no bolts/screw or zip ties needed
the hardest part was putting on and off the bumper for clearance and fitment testing. Give it a try
thanks
thanks for the compliments
thanks
if i was going to make them and sell. I would make them out of carbon fiber or one piece plastic, if their is a demand i will make them lol
thanks man, def post pics when you do
since then i have lowered the front 2inches and added front splitter, and running 30% coolant 70% tap water, no redline water wetter, i was seeing 200-210F during the same condition above
with my new front splitter which sits almost full inches lower than my old front splitter set up. I know I will run into more heating issues, so I decided to make these dual vent mods
now I am seeing around 190-195 at mid to high 80s weather temp cruising at 2000rpm 6th gear, I will be doing a coolant flush sometimes soon, i will be going back to only distilled water and run two bottle of redline water wetter for the summer

Excellent...did you steal my idea? If not, we must have shared DNA somewhere...great JOB...can't wait to hear how well it works..
I think I'd take that concept to Vararam and keep a royalty. Let them do it all.....

it would be nice, but i doubt big company like vararam would entertain a DIY guy lol, if i wanted i could make this in a full Carbon Fiber or a full one piece plastic, me and my friends makes all sort of stuff like these as side business, this one was not made to look pretty
here some examples on what we do
