Gas Gauge issues... 10% Ethanol or Non Ethanol
Please put which type of fuel you try to use most of the time Ethanol or NON Ethanol and if you have had gas gauge issues. I would like to see if the 10% Ethanol might be the culprit for the "sticking" gas gauge issue.

I use 91 octane NON-ethanol and have had NO gas gauge issues

94 octane only, no ethanol, no problems.
Chevron (94 octane I believe has Techron) only.

I never use water gas unless I have no choice, then burn it down to DIC Low Fuel warning and fill with 91 real gas or better.

93 Non Ethanol here...no gauge issues since I've been using NE for the last 9 or so months, but when I first got my car I did experience the gauge drop to E one time when I was using 93 with 10% ethanol, added a bottle of Techron to fix the gauge. I don't know if I would say it was the gas that caused it to stick though.

Thank you
I wouldn't say it either... but, were going to try and find out if there might be a link

93 octane 10% ethanol. Ethanol-free gas isn't that common here. I DID have the gas-gauge-drop-to-zero once but it was only once.
I use Techron regularly anyways...I'm hoping it was just a fluke.

I use Techron a couple of times a year and a have not had any subsequent problems.

When I first got my car, the gauge had worked fine for 58,000 miles, don't know what gas had been used in it. I started using 91 octane pure gas with no ethanol. Six months later the gauge malfunctioned. I did the Techron program, 5 months later switched to Shell V-Power 91 oct and the gas gauge started working again. I am staying with Shell 91 with 10% ethanol. It seemed to fix the gauge problem.

93 - 10% ethanol and a bottle of Techron every fill up. No issues.
I do the same with my everyday driver.. a Mini. I did have to replace a fuel pump in it right after the 10% change over in my area.

Been running 10% ethanol in my car for 5.5 years and no gas gauge issues. Did the same with the '00 that I owned for 7.5 years.
