Why am I having such a hard time finding tires for my C5Z!
Alright I've got an '02 C5 Z06 that desperately needs some new tires, it has virtually bald wide ovals on the back and fairly good ones on the front but I hate these tires I want 4 new ones.
I'm going to drive this car a lot and enjoy it, it'll see rain and nice days. And days where it'll be 50 degrees or less I live in PA. I was told to check out Bridgestone Potenza RE760s but I don't think they make them in a 295 size.
I was also told to check out Nitto INVO's which they make in a stock 295 tire size, but not a 275 front stock size only a 285/40/17..... And I know some 285's can run wider than a different tire that's a 295 but I don't know which ones.. So I'm trying to play it safe and not screw up the car's system.
I know you have to be careful about size difference in the front for the active handling system, but please someone tell me what size in the front is okay with a 295 tire.. I don't really want to go to a 285 tire like some vettes have because they'll be narrower, and look kinda silly. This isn't going to be a track car but a street car with an OCCASIONAL Friday night at the strip. It's going to be in the 400-420 wheel horsepower range and have a "cam only" setup.
Can someone please help a newbie corvette owner out here. People are telling me online to do the nitto NT05s and those are virtually a drag radial lol. I wish I could get the Goodyear GS-D3's in stock sizes those are a great tire.

Look in the Z section, Michelin makes what pretty much everyone says is a better tire than the factory Goodyear.

I would go with the Michelins.

Yes the Bridgestone RE760 are available in stock C5Z sizes.
Do you have a budget? If so, then this would be your best choice, on a budget. If not, then get the Michelins.

The Michelin PS2 in 295/35/18 has been backordered for quite a while. I believe I read on here that it was going to be discontinued. Nitto makes the NT05 in 275/40/17 and 295/35/18, which is probabily what I will go with. Also, the NT05 drag radial is a different model from the regular NT05.

Have you looked at the Tire Rack website to find the two sizes? Tire Rack is a CF Supporting Vendor and a CF members works for them and will post here on occasion. TR carries a wide variety of brands so it may be worth spending a little time on their site. You can always call Tire Rack and speak to a rep.
Looks like they have 13 models in the 295/35-18 size.
I have Z06 wheels on my '02 coupe and up front, I'm running a 275/40-17 with no problems. The car is lowered all the way on the stock bolts and no rubbing issues or problems with the very small size difference with the 295/35-18's in back.

I just went through this when I bought new polished oem z06 wheels for my 2003 C5. Only Goodyear and Bridgestone make the correct sizes for front and rear. If you want Michelins or something else you would need to get the next bigger or smaller size but there is a maximum difference that they need to be and I could not find any match. I went with the bridgestone's, very reasonable price plus a $70 rebate.

Hankook may be a brand u want to look into. They are available in stock sizes and priced pretty good. I have them on my car and they are an awesome tire. I bought my mine from Tirecrazy, 275/35/18 and 305/30/19 and I dont remember exactly what i paid but it was between 800-850 at the time with free shipping. Has great reveiws as well so u should read about them.

I bought my hankook's on close out last yr from tire rack for 460.00 shipped to the house the next day. I should have bought two sets for that price. Again they are stock size on c6 z06 replicas.

Stock c5 size on c6 z06 17/18 staggard wheels, tires are 245/45/17 front 275/40/18 rear. Knowing what I know now I would get 255/40/17 up front, mine work fine but look just a tad stretched, rear are fine. I ordered my tires first due to them being on closeout I and then ordered the new wheels and come to find out it is really hard to get the relicas in original size up front so I went with what I had. Tire rack web gives up all the different sizes and wheels they will fit. good luck
