Default AC no longer cold

:will y:
my AC no longer blows out cold air and i found that the white plug in the picture broke off my compressor, do i need to buy a new one or is there a cheap way around this issue? thanks

That part is the magnet for the AC Clutch. So you would need a new AC clutch, not the whole compressor. In fact, since its just the magnet, the most inexpensive way to fix this would be to get a magnet from an already used or worn clutch. The magnets don't wear out, only the clutch surface material does. Someone on the forum may have an old AC clutch laying around that you can pull apart to get an intact piece that you have shown.

Do you plan to make this repair yourself? I don't know anyone around my area who works on compressors like a subpart. Depending on if you find someone or how much it cost. May be easier to purchase new. I purchased a compressor kit off Amazon for $218 that came with a new compressor, seals, PAG oil, drier, AND orfice tube.
