Default from C4 to C5!!

way late but though i would make it official that i switched.

have to say, i really miss the all orange dash, the all digital dash. still getting used to the HUD. loving the hatch, the smooth ride, really love the memory telescoping wheel that retracts when i get out. still cracks me up every time

question for C4 guys, do you still go for the parking brake. every time i stop i instinctively reach left for my brake, and forget they moved it on me!! i really liked the hidden e-brake on the left. going to take me forever to re learn its on the right side now!

i predict my next corvette will be a 2013

That is the thing I hate most about the C4.

Congratulations. I still reflect on my '84. Loved that car and the C4's AND the C6's are great cars, just way different. The C5's have a lot more "creature comforts" than the C4's did and a totally different road feel. You'll get used to it.

Congrats. I had a 96 vert auto than bought a 00 vert 6 speed. Owned them both at the same time but used them in different ways. I will always love my C4 as it was my first vette. Sold both of them and now in a 04 Z06, which is a beast.

Never had a C4 but nice rides and nice move forward. My 325i has an orange dash, not a fan.

Congrats !!!! I don't know why anyone would like the e-brake on the left, if it's a manual how do you get out of the car when it's applied ????

I have had C4's and C5's. I like both, but they are different.

It is too bad you sold the C4 to get the C5. It is fun trading off between the two. I enjoy them both and trading off keeps both of them fresh feeling. Sometimes just driving one car I get used to it and don't notice the good or bad points.

Hope you enjoy your new one, both Corvettes look great.

After parting with my C4, I picked up a C3 before buying the C5 vert. Taking a step backwards and then two steps forward made the transition interesting. Good luck!

The C4 parking brake handle can be pushed back down after applying the e-brake so it isn't in the way. To release the e-brake, you raise the handle back up, push the button and lower it.

The C5 handle stays in position but the location of it doesn't really hurt anything.

Congrats on moving up to a C5. I did the same back in 1999 when I went from a '95 coupe to a '99 coupe. Quite the difference in the feel of the car, the ergonomics, power, etc. I did enjoy each of the four C4s I owned, but at least to me, the C5 is a much better car.

Hope you get many miles of driving pleasure from your C5. BTW, that was a good looking '93 you had - always liked the 40th anniversary models.

Congrats on the C5. I recently went from a highly modified C4 to my 50th Anny.
I was sick of the noise and constant desire to mod or change something else with my C4. I don't have that fever with the C5 yet. I hope I can restrain myself.

I went from a 1994 C4 to my current 1999 C5 and found the transition pretty easy. I did grab for the left handed E-brake a few times at the beginning. I liked my C4 and now wish I'd kept it...especially liked the Black Rose paint.

Thanks all. Ya I think it's overall better.way more pros then cons.
Mostly just am missing the cool items like dash.

Be funny to mod it to have c4 dash and orange clusters and head units.
