Default Wife Says I'm "Period Correct" for C5

My wife never ceases to come up with something funny every day. Recently, I've been considering moving to a newer Vette. When I told my wife, she said she really likes the C-5 we own. OK, so I kept on looking at cars. When I found one I liked, she said, "You really look good driving the C-5, it fits. You're old and the car fits you, it's Period Correct, the newer Vette (C7) is a younger man's car and you're over 65".
Period Correct??? WTF is that? Besides, based on the current prices, the C5 is affordable by a wide range of ages, not so newer Vettes.
Has anyone else ever been told they fit their C5 because "they're period correct together"
I'm still laughing over this one.

I have never heard that one. But then again she might be on to something. But then again if you feel young at heart, you may enjoy that C7 you are eyeing up.

Can't say my wife or anyone else has ever called me period correct with the C5. My wife has said I really don't need to upgrade to a C7 though (a comment I tend to disagree with).

If it makes you feel any better I get constantly razzed for my 'old mans' c5. I'm 32 (had it 3yrs). I'm not sure if being younger justifies spending 50k plus on a new one when they lose value so fast. I'd lose 20k just to look cool for the first 5yrs

My wife always encourage me to do what I want because she says I have earned it. I try not to go overboard - recently, when I was looking at C7's for a new dd, I stuck to used Z51's rather than Z06's to keep it reasonable. It would awesome to drive a C7Z to work but it is totally overkill and 100 miles a day would make it a bad call. The used C7 I bought is more car than most commute in, keeps me in a super-fun dd and keeps the wife happy by showing some restraint.

The Z51 C7's are still beautiful cars. My wife and I drove our C5Z to Bowling Green over the summer, we visited the corvette museum, and did the plant tour. We had a blast watching the employees make the C7's along with the Z's. Our dream is to own a C7 someday.

My wife is 14 years younger than me. In her mind I am considered the old fart. She laughs at me when I mention an ache or pain and rarely comes to our other home in FL for the winter. She constantly says, People only go to Florida to die. You go, I'll stay here.

So, my C5 is in Florida and I spend as much time there as possible with it. Doesn't hurt my feelings not having another GPS in the car. :-)

This year buying her a Christmas present was easy. I bought her a new 24" Toro Snow blower with 5 Speeds forward & 3 Reverse. Enjoy the winter honey :-) It's really pretty when it snows. Yup :-)

Great post.

I'm 70+ and still have a C-5.

OBTW, I got a C-7 this year too, it's sorta like viagra, it keeps me thinking young.
