Update:

Finished preparing the prototype mounting bracket. Like the Stealth Light Cannon headlights, the projectors will be independently adjustable in vertical, horizontal and rotational axis and mounted using the bolt/flange-nut combination instead of the spring-screw setup that comes with the projectors. This will allow the user to perfectly align their lights then lock them into place.

Actual bracket will have a reinforcement along the bottom just like the top. This one is just for testing purposes.

With the flange nuts, once your lights are aimed, they won't come out of adjustment.

What kind of trade-in value are you giving us on the RadioFlyer ACA setups we already have?
hhmmmmm ............
thought so
And I really like what I've got.

Don't think I would be able to justify those kind of prices.

The Bi-xenon ACA headlights will actually have superior optical performance (at least in the bi-xenon projector portion). So far there is not a sealed bi-xenon projector small enough to be usable in a low-profile projector.

Still shooting for the $800 price point.

wow
If I had it to do over again I would not wait. We have had 3+ years of great night-time visibility.
But the new product looks like it might exceed your "original".

The low beam cutoff on that is just sexy. Is the high beam a flood? Do you have any pics of just the high beam?

With the High-output LED, the High beam produces a floodlight pattern and it almost perfectly matches the color of the 5000K HID (it will match perfectly once the HID has complete completed the 10 hr "burn in" color-shift.

With a Halogen bulb, the projector produces more of a spot with gradual fade. (see below)

Update:

A few on-car photos

Preliminary mounting on -car revealed a few adjustments need to be made

1) High beam projector will be moved upwards about 3/8". This should align the low and high beam projectors on the same horizontal plane and also allow the headlight rise height to be lowered to the planned 3.5"

2) There is no way to use anything but a halogen bulb in the high beam position....UNLESS I can find a way to shift the lifting arm. away from centerline about 1".

There are 2 common ways to change the headlight rise height:
- Install a new bump-stop
- Modify the lifting arm geometry.

Since I am considering changing the lifting arm position anyway, It makes sense to pursue the latter option. Over the next couple of days, I will look into a few options for this.

Side view (trial fit 1)

Factory rise height for comparison (these are the Light Cannon 2.0 w/o shrouds)

From the front. High beam projector needs to be raised slightly

Looking like a great piece of artwork there.

Love the way it's turning out.

This looks very similar to my sun guns from JMW. I love them as the low profile is much better. My issue has been with the HIDs and am currently looking to go to a LED conversion.

Update:

After some fun with a protractor and compass, I got the geometry of the new lifting arm and rotation arm. Re-mounting the lifting arm about 1.25" towards the outside, allowed for use of the high output LED high beam.

Spaced Hinge Mechanism

Production version will use a 3/4" tube welded to the bump-stop and lifting arm instead of the stainless bolts.

test mounting

First Test:

A prototype of the production version of the lifting arm assembly will be built tomorrow. Once the headlights are correctly aimed, I will begin shroud shaping (it would suck to have a pretty shroud that only works with un-aimed headlights)

I expect to have the shroud mold ready for Laser scanning late next week.

Prototype lifting arm assembly tested. This is the home-made variant of the production version. The 10mm but will be installed through the connecting tube. This will require either a 1/4 drive deep socket or socket and extension.

Notice how the lifting arm clears the LED high beam bulb. The braided heat sinks did not produce a clearance issue, however they will be zip-tied in the final installation.

The rise height goal was 3.5" but I found that 4" gave better clearance with the low beam and shrouds.

High beam mounted too low

High beam raised 3/8" Looks much better now.

Test shots

First mounted comparison test: (compared to the older Light Cannon 2.0) Both systems use a 55w 5000K HID low beam.

Luminator low beam (razor sharp cutoff)

LC 2.0 low beam (how long we've come in 8 years)

Luminator LED high beams (Floodlight pattern)

Factory headlight rise

Luminator headlight rise

Notes:
I will begin working on the shroud this week.

Yes, the LED high beam will be standard. We will have a discounted version with a halogen high beam as well.
