5 Things to Know About the 2000 C5-R Corvette
The 2000 C5-R is one of those Corvettes that you never really hear people talking about. And that's just plain wrong.

1. The 2000 C5-Rs grew out of a development car to be debuted at the 1999 24 Hours of Daytona.
2. It’s unclear how many of these “super” Corvettes were actually produced.
3. Key performance features of the Corvette included a stock LS1 engine, racing suspension, brakes, roll cage, a no-nonsense interior, and a carbon-fiber wide-body kit.
4. The 2000 C5-R eventually became a show car.
5. At one point, it was thought that the Corvette C5-R might be birthed in the 2001 C5 Z06. But that never happened.
Never knew they existed, like the front end.
