How often do you get complimented on your car?

I get looks all the time, not too many comments as I drive mostly to work and back.

Actually, I get comments on the car quite often. It pays to keep it clean and in good shape.

I get compliments all the time from all different kinds of people. At work, at the drive-thru, from people walking by on the sidewalk, and even sometimes stopped in traffic or at a light. Kids love the car, even if they don't know what it is. Old folks like it, young people comment, and it's all been really positive.
People usually end up asking what year it is, and are always surprised it's so "old"!

While I didn't purchase the C5 due to what others perceive about it (I could care less honestly what people think about the car) I do often get random compliments from individuals. I believe it's primarily due to being Nassau Blue, which not only is a fairly lesser seen color on a C5 but lighter blues themselves are becoming fairly rare colors used on vehicles, much less on a Corvette. Second I believe it to be the car's condition. Most C5s, even daily or frequent drivers like mine, are in very good shape. Unless the car has been completely neglected by the owner or suffered some physical damage most C5s are going to look pretty good at first glance. My car is in really good shape and I keep it that way even with it not being a garage queen.
Most people I have come across know the car is old. No one has confused it with a more modern car despite it's condition. I actually get a tremendous amount of individuals think it's of the same generation as the C4 oddly enough. It's probably because of the hideaway head lamps which along with the color is the first thing people see.
The most compliments come from middle aged to older men, which was a bit of a surprise as a young C5 owner. My wife joked that she didn't have to worry about anything 'cause the only people that like the car are "old men." It's likely because said individuals wanted a C5 or want a Corvette in general and maybe cannot own one, they own a Corvette, or they're simply enthusiasts that enjoy a clean car. The younger crowd cares less for the car in my experience. They're too much into wanna-be-drift-missile JDM stuff, VW or BMW, or go for newer Americana like the Pony segment.

Only drive mine now and then but every time I drive it some one always comments
You can bet some one will want to talk about it
When I drive my pick-up truck they wouldn't give me the time of day
but when I drive the Vette it's like I'm almost famous

Mine always catches attention with the car guys, mainly because the car is known around here for what it's packing. Helps to have a rather unique color, and as Vetteman Jack said, keeping it clean and tidy goes a long way too.
