Default Looking for wheel spacers/adapters for C6 wheels on C5.

I am running some 5 spoke C6 wheels off a 2006 Vette on my 2000 FRC and love the way they look - however due to the offsets on the wheels, they're sunken into the wheel wells (I was aware of this going into it). I'd like to purchase some wheel spacers/adapters to bring the wheel out flush with the fenders, both front and rear. I have not yet measured precisely but the rear looks to need a bigger spacer than the front.

Not my car, but identical setup to what I am running. (google image)

What is the current "go-to" for adapters? I am thinking I'll need about an inch out back, maybe a bit less up front.

From a quick search I was able to find the following links online:

This site was recommended by a few members here on CF, found with a quick search
http://www.ezaccessory.com/Hub_Centr...475-5475hv.htm

Many good reviews about these folks, but pricey compared to the others.
http://www.motorsport-tech.com/wheel_adapters.html

Seem like a decent option? However, no machined lip on the face of the adapter, meaning they won't be wheel-centric, only hub-centric.

Oh, I did find these in a nice subtle black with the machined wheel centric lip on the face.

Oh, and yes, I'm aware that this modification will wear out my wheel bearings, cause my car to blow up, and possibly kill me due to wheels falling off. (end sarcasm)

I got mine from Wheelgear on eBay. Had them for 3 months on my 2000 FRC daily driver and they've been just fine.

^Thank you for your real world experience. I need to measure to see how much room I have. What wheels are you running, and any pictures?

I bought 25mm adapters from motorsport-tech.com. I have 2008 C6 wheels. The part without any threads on the stock bolts do stick out past the adapter but my C6 wheel has a gap where it doesn't hit so I didn't need to modify it. If you don't have that gap or if you went any smaller than a 25mm you may need to trim down the stud.

I have c6 oem wheels from a 2005 vette. Using H&R Hubcentric 1in spacers, works perfectly.

I have the wheel adapters on the rear only. I have 2005 wheels on my 2000 C5 FRC.

Top: BEFORE (with stock C5 wheels)
Bottom: AFTER (with C6 wheels and adapters)

Neither is lowered in these pics.

Thanks for your replies with pics all - I am thinking 1.25" may be a bit too much poke, I do NOT want the "lowrider/mexi-poke" look

I will measure with a straight edge and precise ruler to find out how much I can come out to be flush with the fender. I am lowered pretty good on aftermarket bolts in the rear and don't want to kiss the fender on highway bumps and such.

I think mine are the perfect size b/c they come out as far as you possibly can without hitting the fender.

Motorsports tech I would never buy from them again.

I ran 1.5" adapters on my C6 CCW wheels out back, but that isn't for everyone.

I have a set that I can sell you if you're intersted, as I'm no longer running my C6 wheels. One of the rear adapters has a broken stud that would need to be replaced, but other than that this set is solid. Here's a link to the parts and pictures of the fit with this setup:

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-adapters.html

The front spacers were from DRM at 5/8" and the rear adapters were custom made at 7/8". $125 shipped if you're interested

Why do you say that? I had no issues ordering from them and I've had them on for about a year with no issues.

Lenny was super rude to me after a misunderstanding. I will not support a company that treats their customers poorly.

Sorry for the off topic question but how do you have your car lowered in the front? Just stock bolts? I have horrible wheel gap in the front for my C6 wheels but I'm only running a spacer in the rear

I run 2" Motorsport-Tech's on my 87 Z/28 so that I can use C5 10.5"'s on all 4 corners, and they are stout!

I measured the gap last night and I think a 1/2" will do nicely up front, with a 1" out back. 25mm will be close enough. Will order today.

Bump: Put together a how-to for bolt-on wheel spacers.
