Are C5 Corvette FRC Prices on the Rise?
Markets can swiftly change, but usually when car prices start to creep up, there's some warning signs. This might be one of those signs.

I do not count dealer prices when factoring average price for a car. When it comes to used specialty cars like a frc dealers know that they will be able to swindle some idiot for an outrageous price so they do it. I watch prices for months and see what sells and what does not then I factor the ones that sell into a average. Just because I can put my frc up for 30k dosent mean a darn thing because it would never sell.

I watch private sales.... For example, an 02 Z with 6340 miles just went for < than the price of the car in question... Multiple factors play into the formula. I hope prices do rise. The FRC is a great car.

Up or down, it's all a matter of supply and demand with the qualifier of condition. We all know the supply side, only a smidgen over 6000 made (I know Z06's are the frc body style but I always separate the two) and we can safely assume not nearly that many are still on the road. Demand? Who can say? Time will tell.

Let's be honest the frc is in my opinion by far the best bank for your buck as far as performance cars right now. They are relatively affordable and have all the potential you could dream of.

FRC must be separated from the 01-04 Z06 - although they don't carry some of the performance features of the later C5Z, they are more rare in their own right based on production numbers. Far more desirable than the other coupes and convertibles of the same era.

2000 FRC here with the larger Hotckis sway bars and Bilstien shocks at all 4 corners.... it handles like it's glued to the road !!

and that looks just like my car !! Less the wheels of course.

However:
1. I have seen pretty nice Z's at 20 or so but not FRC's at 10 so you must of got a great deal....
2. If you get an FRC and put in a Z suspension then voila- you have an FRC with a Z suspension. There are a multitude of options and factors that still separate the two cars. Performance and resale wise.

Same here, but I went with Johnny O/Pfatty bars, and yeah, it'll handle better than me...

Z06 has tighter ratio transmission, different heads/intake manifold/cam/engine, thinner glass, no sound deadening, additional brake cooling, titanium exhaust, less unsprung weight via lighter wheels, etc.
You're "voila" conversion has a way to go.

Wouldn't bother me if the prices of C5s began to rise. But even with the low mileage I would not buy a '99 FRC for $25K+. As they say, asking and getting can be two different things.

As the buyer of that car, I will say I did not pay close to asking.
I was looking for the best example of an FRC (or z06, not a fan of targa C5s and too poor for a c6/c7) I could find.
For me it was about finding the best base to start from, and this one is basically a brand new car.
