no start...01 C5 M6
I park next to a heavily wooded area with deer and other critters so
I figure squirrel had dropped something on the roof, or perhaps a larger critter has run into the car and set off the alarm.
I'm on the phone, so hand keys to one of them and tell them to unlock the door and turn they key, which should stop the alarm.
They return, saying when they got back outside, alarm had apparently reset, and was no longer sounding.
I walk back outside; 1/2way across the lot, the alarm goes off, lights flashing.
Hit the lock/unlock, alarm stops, lights stop flashing.
Cycle through buttons on the remote.
All buttons on remote invoke the proper responses from the car.
Open the door, dash is lit up, radio is on and playing.
Clock is correct.
Oddly, the door/key chime is bonging.
neglected to note state of the Security light.
Insert key, seat moves to driving position.
Attempt to start.
Guage needles move as expected, dic displays normal Corvette by Chevrolet message. No secondary error messages.
No crank.
Pull key.
Lather rinse repeat, same result.
With key pulled, still getting the key inserted chime.
Since I'm at work, cant really futz with it in immediate mode.
Disconnect battery.
Battery is about 8 months old, and typically puts out 13.8-14.1.
Given the bonging when the key is not inserted, I'm thinking (or hoping) this is just an ignition switch failure.
Or do you all think I may have a bigger problem?

No errors on DIC, everything appears normal.
Make the short trip home (about 4 miles.)
Closer inspection:
Front pass. floorboard is damp, as is the BCM access cover.
Some water in the recess for the left release lever for the BCM cover. (only the left, which is almost in line with the wiring harness)
When I removed the cover, couple drops fell on the body of the BCM itself
Given:
There has been no rain in the last couple of weeks.
I have not washed the car.
I have run the windshield wipers/fluid to clean the windshield, and cleaned the windows when I got gas earlier today.
Udders were cleaned several months ago, but lacking rain, there's been no appreciable amount of water to overflow the udders.
However, It has been in the low 90s for several weeks, so AC has been run regularly.
Theory 2: drain line for the AC is partially obstructed or dry rotted.
If plugged, I don't think it is 100% blocked, as I noted a small puddle collected while I was gassing up and cleaning the windows earlier today.
