Hmmm, ...increasing the assembly pivot contact areas, anchoring the control arm pivot pin and motor shaft bushings for support.
I love simple, very nice Gary!
Your lower opening stop plates are inbound. (via USPS)
Good Luck and keep us updated with your intended mod...

...remember, you are only limited by the space available, money available and your imagination, however mostly just your imagination.
For instance;
-Bi-Xenon projectors will fit into the C5 assembly. Often quoted "expert" opinions not withstanding...
What I'm currently working on in my shop;
-Retro-fitting Mercedes-Benz GLE "adaptive" LED headlights into the limited space of the C5 headlight bucket and still being "adaptive"...
Have fun with it Gary...

I had the same problem back in 2010.
I replaced the OEM rod with a metric SS M8-1.25 bolt that was a bit longer than the OEM rod. Then I secured it with a Nylock nut. This made the connection a bit tighter and will eliminate the retainer that holds the OEM rod in place from coming off in use.......has happened to me twice But there was still room for improvement, so I added one 5/16" nylon washer between the lifting arm and the headlamp assembly to further firm up this connection (see pic 2 sorry for the blur).
