Default A tale of two tanks.

It's almost time to get the Vettes ready for winter storage. I've never given this a thought before but how do you get Stabil in both gas tanks. Do I put it in when close to empty or when it's full of gas? Please tell me the reason too. Thanks

1/2 full so the gas entering mixes the Stabil around. If you do it after filling it'll just seep in. If you do it at empty it may stay mostly in the DS. So I've read. I'd bet money the latter would work fine also.

That's what I'm doing right now, running the tank down to about a third then adding a bottle of Stabil then filling her up. Did the oil change today and pretty soon cover goes on and battery tender plus gets hooked up in my garage.

Add me to the list of people that have to look at their covered car till May (ish)
Covered, Stabil, plug the exhaust, battery in the basement, fresh oil change, dryer sheets inside. This worked for 8 yrs with my Vert Z28, should be okay for the new toy too.

Don't tell me if it's right or wrong,(I don't care what others think) I fill my tank, and it's stored in my garage with a minimum temp of 60 degrees. Never had any issues with any car.

When I put my car in storage, I run the tank down to about a 1/4 level then add Sta-Bil and fill the tanks up. That way plenty of the Sta-Bil is distributed to both tanks.

It's only October 4th. I live in the "snow belt", and probably will keep the 'Vette on the road for another 6 weeks..........then I'll put the Sta-Bil in it, and the cover on it.

I have a side biz in my shop/garage, so I get to at least look at mine frequently in the winter. Hope winter is a ways away still. Thankfully February 18th or so I got to put it on the road here this year, hope this winter is as mild.
