C5 vs LS2 C6 questions not debate
I went to the dyno with my friend who has a 2005 C6. Its stock and he wanted baseline numbers. It's a 6 speed manual. He pulled 328-331 hp between 3 pulls SAE. Torque was 328 on all 3 pulls.
Dyno operator said this is average for a stock C6 LS2.
My question is... I have seen the 2005-2007 C6's rated around 12.7 stock in the 1/4 mile with some forum posters running 12.4's stock.
C5 Vettes (6 speed manual) were rated 13.1-13.3 stock from what I have seen with some forum posters posting as low as 12.8-12.8 without mods.
My question is, how is the LS2 C6 quicker when it also weighs more? It seems there is only about a 20-25hp spread which would hardly make up for more weight and allow the C6 to run 5 tenths quicker stock.
Just curious. My friends car feels a bit quicker than mine 0-60 also as a note. We are both stock. I didn't dyno mine but assume I make about 305rwhp but weigh around 150lbs lighter .. (FRC)
Is it just where the C6 LS2 is making power in the powerband vs the LS1? I'd be interested to see a dyno sheet comparison stock for stock.

20 REAR WHEEL HP difference is a big difference when it comes to times. Especially when its through out the power band. Also where are you getting that the C6 weighs 150 more lbs then the C5? From what ive seen the differences in weight are negligible even when talking about the C5z vs the C6z when you look at the Actuall weights people are getting when they weigh the cars and not Curb weight.
