I like the race look
for tires-----maybe close to drag radials. I have not found any white or yellow letter street tires anywhere---it's the old school tires with the new offset wheel combo deal. Does anybody have that look on their Vette? If so, did you have to use custom wheels? Thanks.

There are vendors that sell stick on lettering kits that can be used with Vette appropriate tires. Several forum members have posted pics of their cars with the letters installed.

The History
Raised white letter tires where born on the race circuit as most would imagine. They were for advertising purposes. Which is a very big part of professional racing, those stickers all over the car represent someone paying the bills. That " Look" is a race inspired look. Some like it and some don't. Back in the 60's an 70's factory production muscle cars were coming off the line with that race inspired look.
Today, that look can be riddled with criticism.. While some might think it looks good, other might feel the laughter over their should when other think that looks makes a car have the look of the 60's.
That " look " today the nostalgia look, is evident in the New Camaro, that takes its styling queue from the 1969 Camaro. The MOPAR line is full of the 70's look.
So it may be ground floor thinking for the op, or an opportunity to be ridiculed, but ultimately it should be his choice without fear of other peoples opinion.

thanks for your reply. I looked at the fire suit post which helps me visualize. I get it. I was one of the first back in the 70's to go with black sidewalls only, but i'm ready to experiment. A white car is clean and beautiful but begging for a little twist. This would be a low budget way to change it when you need tires. also I go for the "made in America" tire on the Corvette.

Thanks ET, I know that I am outoftouch with a lot of the members. I have had the car 10 months and I am starting to visualize a little add of color with all of the great looks that owners have accomplished. I need tires and may be able to make a little change in the look as well as the clean white. Appreciate your post.

Should not be a negative
Revolver ZSTi , car should be an inspiration for people. All of our cars started out with the factory design.. Many of us have used other members cars as an inspiration to modify their own car.
Lots of visionaries on this forum willing to show off their car, and share their experience.

OP...Make the car your own. I murdered mine and added a red LED light above my exhaust plate and a white LED above my tag, and blue cove lights...red, white, blue, and I have a patriot tag. Anyone who doesn't like it...well I couldn't care less, I like it and that's all that matters. I may change my mind later, but that's a woman's right...right?
p.s...I'm going to confess that I really really want to put the dripping black blood below my yellow C6 tail lights...so far I've resisted the urge. If it was a decal, I could take it off I guess. Some people just like weird stuff. I go thru phases of utter individualness (is that a word?). I'm sure the pure stock gurus would cringe.
