C5 versus Acura NSX
The NSX has always been my grail car. Ive owned several Acuras, my fiancé drives a new MDX, and for the last 25 years I have loved the NSX. Acura to me is the perfect blend of technology performance value and reliability. All without a luxury car price, or or the supposed status they provide. The NSX adds to that: supercar style and ALMOST super car performance, while being as reliable and repairable as a Civic. To me, it's perfection.
So the other day I parked behind a black NSX and took this picture. I gotta say...I love my C5 no less after having done so. And, for 1/4 of the price.

4x the price!?
Never been a fan of the NSX (or Acura/Honda styling in general), the back end of the NSX in particular. Dependable for sure. I think you have the nicer car, enjoy it.

The NSX is a cool car but its not for me
There is one locally that has popped up for around $50k , which is the lowest ive seen them sell for in years.
They are not fast, and they are small, and they look dated
With a drop, wheels and a body kit they can turn a lot of heads, but in stock form they don't do it for me
Id rather get a 500+ gen 3 -V10 viper for that kind of money ...or a Bentley flying spur
But yea the reliability is appealing with the nsx

If I had an NSX, I'd sell it now. With the new model coming out, it seems demand has hit its high. Isn't the argument that the c5 will never be a true collector classic because too many were produced applicable here too?
I haven't looked it up, but I sure do see a lot of them in the Detroit area (surprisingly). Production numbers can't be that low.
Old datsuns and other Asian "exotics" have been hot recently, but the NSX for all its performance is just a pretty foreign used car to me. Honestly, I'd rather have my C5.

The new NSX is terrible. It went from a purist car to a loaded up wanna be hypercar - totally removed from its roots
The new FGT is much closer to what the NSX used to stand for, which is odd for gt40 heritage but could be argued for NSX bloodline and design elements.

The original NSX was awesome. A great handling car aimed at being a reliable alternative to exotics of the time.
The new NSX doesn't do much for me, I would rather have the original.

I'll give the NSX credit for reliability and handling, but I am just not interested in owning one. I'm perfectly happy with my Vette. For those that desire an NSX, nothing wrong with that.

I'll never understand the obsession with them. They don't look as good as a late model prelude, they aren't fast, yeah they handle well, but they can't run around a track as fast as an old chevy.
I would rather an s2000 than an nsx. I was actually talking to an nsx owner a while back and he was talking about how it was the best car in the world. He literally said to me "it isn't fun like a Lamborghini or a Ferrari, it's just like driving a normal car. You wouldn't know you were in a super car unless someone told you. His was supercharged too.
why would anyone want a super car that doesn't feel like a super car?

I do like the NSX but would rather own a couple of corvettes than just one of the early gens because of the price they command.
The new NSX is just retarded in terms of price.

It comes down to taste though, I personally don't like the looks, definitely prefer my Z.
Are there plenty of nice cars out there? You bet! Give me enough money to afford a Ferrari, Aston, some Lambo's, sure I might dump my Z (more likely I'd have a few cars, pretty good chance the Z would find a spot in my dream 6 car garage).

You love driving miatas because miatas are really good to drive, yet cheap to reflect the fact that they're slow and not exotic. If the nsx was $15k it would be a great car. There is nothing about it that makes it worth any more than that, its slow, cheap on the inside, and by no means really good looking.
