Default Kooks headers rust

Whats going on fellas. So as the title states I have kooks headers on my c5 and supposedly they're supposed to be stainless steel. Does this look like they are?

Where do you live/work? What is the weird looking dust on the wire? Looks like the same stuff... could be a reaction to the dust? Have you tried to wipe the headers to see if they clean up?

I live in GA and those wires just got installed last week. The headers have been like that for years.

There's different grades of stainless, some will develop and surface rust (400 series) and some won't (300 series)

They won't rust like standard steel but will develop some oxidation on the surface

I just looked on their website, they say they make them out of 300's. I have kooks also and mine have an oxidation layer.

Could be from the heat and any salt/ water reacting to it
