Default Dash Gap / Radio Bezel

Here is a picture of my current Radio Bezel. There seems to be an extra large gap. I watched a youtube video by Froggy that showed it as a common issue. He wrapped the plastic posts that insert into the dash openings with adhesive aluminum tape, large enough to engage the opening and make the fit tight. I took mine apart yesterday and looked. If I take my hand, and push the bezel over so it aligns with the dash pad area, it looks as though it may be a little too far. Does this look like the typical bezel post not tight issue, or is the dash part out of whack?

Simple Fix
Cut off insert guide pins on back of bezel to left and right of radio
If this alone does not correct it then put some black tape around the top right tab to allow it to catch the dash pad.
VERY common on these cars from factory.

There are a few more tricks to consider here. First is to remove and align/tighten the screws under the center arm rest, under the ash try, the temp sensor to make sure that all the fastening screws are tight and that the trim piece is aligned properly. This also eliminates squeaks. Second is to add foam material under the trim piece near the e-brake. I used a piece of black foam padding from a company call SeaDek that I cut to size. By pulling the trim out away from the carpet slightly you will see the trim up near the radio sucks in a bit.. Mine was out but not as much as pictured above.

If I remember right there is 2 torex screws at the top and 2 in lower bottom sides. Everything is brittle when you take that face plate off, there is a good video if you search radio removal that shows the whole process

I think when it's that far out in the middle, it's because the screw inside of the door is not pulling the dash forward enough. You might have to bend the bracket behind the door to let it pull bezel in tight enough. You also need to add tape, I used rubber tape, to the top posts on the bezel.

That’s definitely a huge gap when compared to mine
