We saved the paint on mine by wet sanding and coating it with Opticoat Pro+ The problem is with the quality of the paint from GM in general. They have always sprayed their stuff thin and dry, which really makes me want to mask the whole thing off, tear the old window seals off and use a gallon of some top quality clear to make this thing pop.

In theory is shouldn't be too difficult, I bet it could be done in a weekend. That theory only works if there's enough clear to wet sand in the first place though. Trunk, doors, and hood could probably be left in place. Would have to loosen the front bumper, rear fenders if they aren't being replaced, and would probably need to run a razor blade along the side skirt edges mid cure to keep the clear from building up in the crease and throwing off the lines.

That would take two different molds so I'm going to bet that's a negative. It's easy enough to get rid of if it bothers you that much. I'd have preferred it to not be there as well, but it doesn't bug me that much so I'll probably just leave it as is.

This may have already been asked, so if I missed it I apologize.... Will this bumper attach using all of the factory brackets from the original bumper? In other words, will one simply remove the stock bumper, transfer over all of the brackets and lights, and attach the new one as if it were stock?

Man that getting into PPG envirobase waterborne prices there! Maybe it's just the location but I used matrix for my LS Nissan and I think I was around that quote for the whole car - primer/sealer, base coat, mid coat, flakes & pearl powders, & the clear. And PPG was only a few hundred more, but for non-water Matrix has turned out just as good as ppg on the 20 or so I've used it on.

I'll keep this short and sweet. We currently have the Xtreme rear bumper available, but it requires a bit more fit and finish than most guys would like. I have a new manufacturer that can build me the exact bumper or really similar in urethane...that will have an awesome fit and finish guaranteed. Now don't hold me to this, as I don't know what's the price will be yet. I will try to keep it as affordable as possible. I'm hoping to have it in the $599-699 range. It could go up a bit, but I'll do what I can to keep it low.
Here's a few pictures of what it would look like, it would just be urethane instead of fiberglass. Post up if interested

I took the plunge on the bumper and a diffuser. Hopefully this stuff is as good as I'm anticipating. Can't wait!

Picked mine up from APT this morning. This thing is sturdy! Irving at APT told me it's thicker than the stock unit. Finish is super smooth and the duck bill is exactly what I wanted. Not sure when I can do a trial fit but I will try to get to it ASAP.
