Default 275/35-18 tires

Anyone put these on a stock rear Z06 wheel? The reason im asking is,just bought a 01 and it had the front new tires put on 255/40-17 Cooper Zeon RS3.The rears are older tires with about 5/32 left. Not sure if i want to just drive it till the rears are worn out then replace all four or replace the rears now to match the fronts.Problem is the largest Cooper makes is a 275/35-18.Not real big on mismatched brands. The car has 32000 miles on it and will just be a weekend driver,so more interested in ride/noise than handling and cornering.Using this combo still has a .6 diameter differance.

Not a big fan of Cooper tires, never known them to have tires suitable for a Corvette, never mind the Z06. I'd get 4 new tires.

Yep; Michelin, Continental DW, Toyo T1, Goodyear F1 Supercar, Bridgestone R760 are the current factory size options IIRC (probably in that order).

I would think that 275 on the rear is a bit narrow? You literally will not be able to get any power to the ground without spinning them.

My car had 275/35/18's on the back for some reason when I got it, they were very worn crappy Goodyear runflats, I think the ones used a the base c5's. They 'fit' but were a bit narrow on the rim. I quickly replaced them all around with NT05's in 275/295. World of difference in handling and grip.

A set of Continental DWs up here is about 1400.00 including tax.The rear Zeons are on sale for about 400.00 for the pair.Wish he hadnt even put those new ones on the front.Maybe ill just drive it the way it is for a while and hope the DWs come on sale.I thought the Zeons a bit narrow also.

A used C5 Corvette is about $15-20K, a used Nissan Micra is $5000 (rough number for making a point only).
Same comparison; buy cheap, expect cheap.

I run 275-35-18 Bridgestone Potenza RE71r on the rear for autocross and they get better traction than my 295 Michelin Pilot Sport I use for the street.

Thats my front tire size on my 04Z. Michelin SS and don't look back. Probably the finest tire out there before you get into R compound.
