Mrs. Patches, the Patches Pups and I did ~1000 miles from Floyds *****, Indiana to Brownwood Texas and back again to pick up her 2002 C5, all in 52 stress-laden but exciting hours.

Well my Lady called last night having a major panic attack !!!!! Wished I could have known how much she hates flying ??? I would have just driven down there and been there already !!!! Told her 15 days has turned into just a few more hours and she will never have to do that again alone !!! Didn't tell her I am on edge with anticipation of finally being with her !! Can't wait !!!

That's about all you can do.. Maybe a book or movie to keep her mind occupied while in flight and gum or something to help with her ears popping.

with no problems at all. Also, it is by far statistically proven that by far it is much safr to fly than drive. With some of us it is very hard not to be in control and trust other drivers, pilots, bus drivers, etc.

Unfortunately, no matter what we say, it really will not lessen the intensity of the anxiety. Actually flying, doing it, is the best medicine for the phobia. It is a phobia corrective technique called progressive sensate focused desensitisation. So that means, it will all be over soon and you guys will be together.

I was in a similar situation meeting up with an old high school girlfriend. Airports are stressful for anyone and a little hard on your nerves if your not familiar with a certain airport. The people in uniform are very helpful. Most airports have a bar and a glass of wine may help.

I have an adult male 70-72yo cousin, an avid outdoorsman, horseman (has 2 and manages a ranch), skier (ski patrol and teacher), motorcyclist, who is deathly afraid of flying. His cure- a bottle of champagne and a Valium. Works all the time.

a break! He may be otherwise occupied. I can image the stress these two good forum members are experiencing. We'll eventually get the scoop. It is all about them, not us! I KNOW WE ARE ALL WISHING THEM THE BEST OF OUTCOMES.
