Default Impulse buy...1999 C5 vette Coupe

Bought it to replace my C4 and Jag F Type. Too many cars currently in the stable...still paying ex wifes car payments and my daily.

i was the winning bidder on a very famous auction site

drove from LA to vegas this morning to pick her up! This would be my 5th C5 and 8th Vette!!!!

I wont lie, the wheels motivated my purchase lol authentic bbs LM wheels for the win! Fitment is on point too!!!

70k miles and the driver seat was shot...still had my A4s to throw in from the previous c5s

Looks great. Welcome to the club!

Now get ready for the mods. I want to see that dyno 800 RWHP by summer.

Congrats on getting the '98. Looks good in the pics and hopefully will provide many years of trouble free driving.

I have those exact wheels in my cellar waiting to go on the car (after I get off my behind and reassemble them). They look SO good.

Can you please post some daylight photos of the new seats as well? I have the light gray interior and want to go the A4 route (mine would be the suede) and I'd like to see how it contrasts.

Sounds like when I bought mine. Same thing pretty much and I have zero regrets about it. Congrats on the new to you Vette.

Wow, my car has 140k and my drivers seat looks like nothing compared to that.

Nice score.

update - Trying to turn this Auto C5 into something of a GT - in al honesty this thing already feels well sorted from a suspension standpoint. I did a quick inspection this past week and the end link boots are chewed up. so that might be up next. this is an FE1 suspension, but with a combination of the new solid seats and light weight wheels (compared to stock) this thing feels planted with better steering feel than I remember C5s having.

Anyway more updates to come -

currently swapping the the corner lamps and switching to LED DRLs/Signals and a blue tinted parking bulb

a smaller NRG Steering wheel, Z06 front screens, and reverse black out covers are next

love the stance - debating whether or not to powder coat these a different color - the silver finish on these BBS' are a bit tired - and the clear on the center caps are peeling -

had to replace the socket on the passenger side - was a quick pick up at the local autozone - it does need to be modified to properly fit the lamp housing though, nothing a rotary tool cant fix.

in with the new

much needed modern touch

My understanding is that I will need a plug and play harness for these to function right

Sea swap completed couple weeks ago
