Interior LED Bulb - Quality related question
Looking at replacing the 194 style bulbs in both my car and the wife's car. I had already replaced them last year with some LED bulbs I picked up from the ol' auction site however these are now failing.
In checking the main sites that carry/specialize in LEDs such as autolumination, superbrightleds, etc.. is there a major difference in quality being that these stores carry these types of bulbs for a couple bucks each vs finding them for under a dollar each elsewhere?

I've been "playing' the led game for awhile now, and there are differences in quality, but I can't say I've found much consistency. I just replaced my door button switches with ones from an eBay seller and they are terrific and fit like OEM, which was not my experience when I did the same a couple of years ago with my Z. When I buy from eBay, I specify USA seller to make myself feel better and because it's not a long wait.
I would hope that when you buy from the 'better' vendors you get a better product. However, I also use Oznium and SuperbrightLEDs as sources and have never been disappointed and they have people you can talk to compared to ebay.

I also shelled out for the radio flyer complete interior bulbs. I used many of those ebay cheapies before, there is a reason they sell them in multipacks....the brands radio flyer uses are high quality bulbs hands down, yes expensive, but worth it IMO.

Buying in the USA not necessarily MADE IN USA
Most your company's buy from China. Like bearing, iPhone's , steel etc... you get what you pay for. IMHO

There are at least two forum vendors that sell LED lighting products - check them out. Both offer high quality products.

I used JW Motorsports for my door and IPC switch LEDS. Not had any problems at all.

I've shopped at superbrightleds for years. I've never had an issue with their bulbs. If you are looking for standard replacement bulbs they are a good place to go.
When it comes to the specific bulbs for the corvette (door switches, instrument cluster, etc.) I would go with one of the vendors. The reason is simple. You know they work for the given application. You could buy LED's and make your own or buy prebuilt ones but there's no guarantee they'll fit in the housing. I would also go with a vendor for your standard bulbs (e.g. 194) if their prices are cheaper.

Sylvania zevo bulbs
And I'm in manufacturing, you'd be surprised how many companies buy their components from china and sell it to you as American made.

Last year (2016) I replaced every bulb (except the dash cluster) on my C5, inside and out. I bought all the bulbs from Ebay. A few weeks ago, I bought door switch LEDs from Corvette mods. I have had no issues with any of the bulbs. Just buy the mid-priced bulbs. My car is Navy blue, so I bought blue interior bulbs. It is a great look. The bulbs in the shifter readout in automatic cars, the rear view mirror bulbs, and door switches will love LEDs because they are much cooler. When I pulled the standard bulbs, I could see clearly how the stock bulbs had actually caused some melting and heat discoloration of the plastic components in contact with the stock bulbs.

Thanks for all of the feedback.
Concerning the 194 style lights, I want to get away from those 5 panel ones you find everywhere. The issue I'm having with them in my wife's car is that they are too tall for the fixture. The Zevo's look like they would be a better fit in those fixtures but I would need to take some measurements to confirm.
