Default Engine out for cam upgrade.. What else should I look to update?

So I'm going to be getting LS6 heads installed along with a mild cam.. LS7 lifters, SLP ported oil pump etc..
The guys are going to drop the engine out to do it by sounds of it... So that being the case, while its out is there things to upgrade or replace while I'm at it?
Cars done around 60k miles

Thanks

Why are they creating all that extra work to do heads and a cam?

Nope Not really, I get discounted labour of them, and some work done for free, been using them for 10 years, more of a friend than business...

one reason, I beleive is access to oil pump is fiddly.... Anyway I'm not getting stiffed on bill at the end..
So all good...

IF the engine is coming out, and it was MY car at 60k, I would replace rod bolts, the oil pan gasket, rear cover gasket/seal, flywheel, clutch, pp, slave cylinder with remote bleeder, and the ColoradoSpeed trunnion kit for the rockers, water pump, and engine mounts.

This assumes that you are replacing the timing gears and chain with the new cam and oil pump.

If the car is going to see any track time I would look at having baffles installed in the oil pan.

My 2c

Good luck

I've done my cam 4 times, and the heads have been off 3. All in my garage, with no lift. I cannot imagine why your mech wants to pull the engine. But if he works cheap, do the stuff Marc says.
