Help.... Al Knoch or Vette Essentials?
my DD is a 2004 CE coupe... bought it with only 13k on her and she's got 127k today, have loved every mile and no plans of selling any time in the near future but the seats need recovering, mostly just the drivers seat but of course doing both so they match.
ok, so I am on the wire... I am bobbling back-n-forth between on 2 main points and want to get some closure and place an order.
1. would one select Al Knoch or Vette Essentials
2. fade factor of colors over time
both companies have great products and reviews... was hoping to hear any feedback regarding either company and seat covers that are a few years old (to many) regarding the fading of colors over time as I do have my roof off every chance I get.
When I bought it and even over all these years I've been happy with the stock OEM seat but since one only does this once in a blue moon I'm leaning towards a 2-toned seat cover, but am good with returning it back to it's original glory
help put me out of my misery

this is an example of what I'm talking about.... the OEM shale seats that come on the 50th Anniversary and 2004 CE Vettes, these pics happen to be internet screen shots of a convertible... the top pic is what I have and the the bottom pic is the two toned version I am considering.
its interesting this particular guy covered his roll bars to match, clever and pretty nice I'd say

I'd go two tone. And I would also go with Vette Essentials. I have had their products in my last two C5s, each time for better than 7 years and the seats looked like new after all that time. Their leather is top quality, the fit of the covers is spot on, and the customer service is excellent.

yep, double stuff!
FWIW, both Al Knoch and Vette Essentials have been around for quite a while and produce top notch pieces. You can't go wrong with either.

The two tone is super sharp. FWW, I have interior innovations skins and foam sitting in trunk now, waiting for time to install. Very impressed with the quality, every seam and logo are perfect and the leather is every bit as nice or nicer than OEM. Good luck with yours.

I have had my VE seats for over 8 years in my C5 - driven daily - still look like the day I installed them (replaced foam at same time). I took this photo before I finished steaming out the wrinkles...

I tend to agree
yep, me too
I haven't seen one negative comment regarding VE in my searching out the best vendors to consider, not to say there isn't any, I just haven't come across any, which is why VE is in the top two at this point
a couple years ago when I began considering replacing the seats, the two tone scheme wasn't a thought really, I wasn't diggin' it as much as I do now. Be sure to post your pics when you do
thanks for the tip on Interior Innovations, they seem to have a good reputation as well. I haven't been able to get must of a response from them though. I have sent another inquiry email to them today for clarification.
thank you for the vote!!
yes sir, for sure
thank you for your feedback!
I have become a fan, I wasn't originally, but it grown on me I think
thank you for posting your vote
double stuff haha I like it... now I need some Oreo's
I agree, two tone is looking pretty nice, thanks for your post.
be sure to post some pics once you get yours installed!
I recall seeing your seats during my searches.... very niiiice!
thank you for your feedback
a red Vette with black seats probably doesn't 'need' more blingity, I think the solid shale seats I have could use a nudge in that department
thanks for the feedback everyone!!
maaan, I'm getting pretty excited, almost giddy

ya know, I wasn't sure about that border at first but I think I'm liking it more. What I'd like to find is an example of the same color scheme but w\o the border, just to see what that might look like
the armrest... ya, I'm liking how that adds to the whole look...I may have to do that, the jury is still out on that
