Installed C6Z Brakes, pics inside
Finished installing C6 Z06 brakes on my car last night. Very easy, true bolt-on, swap for those who are interested in doing the same. The only thing I would do different is I would have ordered stainless steel lines. The C6Z brake hoses work, but they can't be used with the factory line/hose brackets and clips. I had to strap tie the hoses to secure them and keep them from touching the wheels. The C5 brake bracket bolts can be re-used. Rear C5 Z06 wheels fit over the brakes, I had to research what wheels will fit prior to doing the install and there are very few wheels that will clear the brakes.

Looks awesome!
Did I understand you correctly, you are running rear C5 Z06 wheels on all four corners?

I bought them used from another member. They were damaged during shipping due to all the parts being thrown in a flimsy box together. So I refinished/painted all the calipers, painted the rotors and had them resurfaced.
Correct. Rear C5Z wheels at all 4 corners. Purchased the wheels brand new from House of Wheels and immediately took them to the powder coaters. I'm running a 275 tire in front, 295 in rear. Front fitment looks like it could have been factory.

It's my work's garage, kind of. It's an old grocery store that we rent to display our Corvettes and a few specialty cars. Van Bortel Chevy in NY. I can say the name because we are a supporting vendor now .
Don't listen to the few people that say the C6Z brakes aren't an upgrade because they are full of it. There is a noticeable improvement even at low speeds. A much firmer pedal, better bite, shorter stopping distances, etc. and I installed oem pads. Only draw back is the added weight at all 4 corners which you can feel through the steering wheel during parking lot maneuvers, but a lightweight wheel should off-set this. I'll update the thread once I get some good spirited driving in, I've only put about 30 miles on them so far.
Used calipers, pads, rotors, pins, hoses, $1085 shipped
VHT caliper paint, VHT high temp black paint, VHT clear coat, $60
2 pints of Motul 600, $40
Corvette lettering caliper decals, $30
Speed bleeders, $80
Labor, free (me)
Total= $1295
You also need wheels that will clear the C6Z brakes. There are very few options, it's not the diameter that matters it's the spoke distance. You can see the rear C5Z wheel BARELY clears the front calipers, but it does clear!
4 rear C5Z wheels from House of Wheels, $1275 shipped
Powder coating, $280
4 Nitto NT05 tires, $782
4 valve stems, $3
Total project (brakes, wheels and tires)= $3635

This brake upgrade is a very noticeable o e, especially if you are replacing old/worn pads. I went with Hawk pads when I did mine, also TSW wheels with Nitto Invos. Made a world of difference in handling and stopping. Only thing I'd do different is 2 piece rotors.
