Although I WISH there were a 100 choices in the stock Zo6 sizes, but only like 2, I'm pretty happy with the Bridgstone RE760's I have in 265/40-17, and 295/35-18's which are probably the best all around size for a C5!!! If for no other reason, it can't be beat for ride compliance, which is more important than the looks, and actually faster for most street conditions.

But is there such a thing as Corvette tires lasting 20 or 30K that still perform decently? I for one don't care to be plopping down $500+ every 10K for tires...if there's no way around it then so be it, but if there is, I'd like to know about it...
I have new Michelin pilot sport AS3 up front. I stayed with the same tires for replacement. First pair lasted about 25k miles.

I'm running new Continental Extreme DWS06 in back. Hoping they last 30-40k miles. (I don't do burn outs)

I stayed with my stock wheels but went 1 size wider all around, not much to choose from when you do that. I ordered NITTO 555 extreme, great reviews and the price was right at discount tire. I'll report results next week when I get them mounted.

Do not cheap out on tires, cheap tires will ruin a great car.

FWIW, an inexpensive tire doesn't automatically mean its a bad, or poor performing tire...likewise, an expensive tire doesn't automatically mean it's the best performing tire either...in other words, price has nothing to do with performance...

First of all new to the Corvette scene. I had continental DSW on my BMW and they were all right for year round use. I only use the Corvette as a pleasure driver and occasionally autocross. I run the car April - September. So sticky summer tires are what I will be using. I am thinking the Nitto or Yokohama Advan.

check out the firehawk 500s then. They are fantastic, great reviews in tirerack and great price point. I love mine.

I just picked up a set of the Firehawk Indy 500's to replace my Kumho Run flats. I can't wait to get rid of them, they are so noisy and stiff I paid 108.00 out the door for each from and 120.00 for each rear. Not bad sub 500.00 for a set of Vette tires.

you will love these tires. I've got about 500 miles on mine and man, for $500 they are incredible. For $800 they would be incredible, but one needn't spend that much!

it was between these and the Hankooks, and the tire rack review stats are what made the decision for me. I guess the Firestone name, and the fact that I get them from a Firestone tire store that's been in my neighborhood my whole life also helped just a bit. I liked that part, as an old guy

I have the Conti DW's on my 2K Vert (2nd set), 07 CTS-V, and 13 LaCrosse. Awesome tire but no longer made.

The OE Z06 size is by far the all around best set-up for several reasons, but sadly not many choices from any of the tire manufactures.

Everyone has their favs andn finding two who agree is probably rare. lol
I'v been running a set of the Hankook Ventus V12 as well. I have about 11K miles on them and I'm curious how many miles other users are getting out of their sets?

I live in FL, so the roads are good year round, however I've noticed over the last 1000 miles are so, I'm starting to feel the road more and I'm wondering if my tires are wearing any faster than others. I have Koni shocks and Z06 sway bars installed as well so the car is very planted.

I will be interested to know how those Firestones are once the weather cools down.

In another lifetime, I replaced the OEM GYs with (I forget which model) Firestone runflat. Excellent traction in warm weather, quiet, great price, (ultimately, great wear - I think I got about 35k miles out of them) - but very slick under 40 degrees.

Whomever asked about SuperSports- Amazing on the C7 in warm weather, but like the above, slick below 45 degrees.....

On my 3rd set of Michelin A/S ZPs.

Just put a set of the BFG's on in March on the advice of Tire Rack and the forum. Very reasonably priced and I really like em so far.

Got a pair on clearance from Tirerack. Like them a lot so far.

Conti just came out with their Extremecontact Sport tire, a real Michelin competitor it seems....

I was wondering if anyone's gone up one width size on the stock size rims (i.e., 255/45 front and 285/40 rear), and if so, how does it work, look handle, etc. I would think in theory anyway, these sizes would be a bit wider, and a bit taller, and I would think should fill in the wheel well some...I just don't know how well they fit the stock rims though...

I run those sizes on stock magnesium rims. I can take pictures on Wednesday.

Cool. How do they fit on the rim, and do they seem to fill the wheel well a little better?

They fit perfectly fine. The Continental DW 285/40/18 and DWS06 255/45/17 are specified to fit the stock rim widths.
