I run the Michelin Pilot Super Sport and love the ride and handling of these tires. If you run your vette in the winter then I'd definitely recommend the Continental Extreme Contact DWS. The DWS are excellent all seasons and I run them on my SS.

Got rid of my run flats and put a set of these on my 99 Vert. late Feb.
Nice tires as far as I'm concerned. Quiet, much smoother ride, corner nicely. I'd buy them again.

I have a set of PSS's in 275/295 sizes ordered and on the way. I don't drive the Z (on purpose) when it rains but I do drive it on dry and cold days in the winter so I went with the PSS's. I know there are better dry only tires but these are great for 3 season use.

Just a quick new update since I have almost 1000 miles on the new Firestone Indy 500's, for what I do grip is great even in a bit of wet and Wednesday went out to Sonoma Raceway and went almost 4/10's faster with my stock '98, the old Michelin run flats best time was a 13.70 with no wind and ran a 13.36 best with 5 mph headwind. I don't do any burnout just pull around the water and go, lost .13 in 60' as well.
Good luck with your choices all!

i will say that the Firestone Firehawks have been awesome during their first 2,000 miles. I may put a set on my 2016 BMW 5 Series and stick the OEM Goodyear run flats in the garage. One nail in those tires and I'm looking at $400 to replace it, because they CANNOT be fixed. Utterly ridiculous that BMW STUCK those to me on my leased vehicle.

I just got a set of the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's. I must say I'm blown away by how quick and responsive they are. They are actually being discontinued and most places they are very limited quantity.. I had to get two from a local Firestone dealer and two from Tirerack.

discontinued?? That seems insane to me. Such great tires. I've had mine for about a month and I want to get a set for my BMW 5 series. I better get on it.

Just looked at the TR tests, Firehawk impressive. Funny how a company will get a bad name and it will take years of effort and redirection of buyer's impression to get them back into good graces with consumers. Glad to see Firestone coming back.
