What products do you use for detailing?
*cross posted in the Northeast section and car care discussion*
I saw there's an Adam's detail clinic this Saturday at Corvette Mike's, but I won't be able to make (final Saturday before the tax deadline, and being in public accounting... ). I called a local detail shop to have them do it, and the quote included the Corvette tax. With that said, I'll commit the time to do it myself. I detailed cars many years ago so I know how involved it can get. Most of the products I used then were bought in bulk and wholesale. I have no desire to buy 5 gallon jugs of products anymore.
I do still have my older DeWalt variable speed buffer and pads, but they've seen better days. What do the detail guru's use and suggest? Zaino? Adam's? Off the shelf stuff from the local auto parts stores?
The car is black and has its fair share of swirls and water spots. The car looks fine from a few feet away. It's not show quality nor will it be, but I do want that clear, deep, glossy shine.

Melting Slicks
Chadwick's Triple Play has been quite popular here. I use and swear by it myself. He also has a paint correction system, too. Only available directly from Neil Chadwick out of Florida.

I use a mix of Adam's, Sonax and Menzerna products.

Been using Zaino for about 17yrs.
I did use a Porter Cable 7424XP and got all my pads, towels, etc. from AutoGeek. I used Wolfgang's Total Swirl Remover and Finishing Glaze on the Vette. It's simple enough to use with good results. I didn't do a perfect job but the hood has a nice, deep, wet look to it. For soap I use Chemical Guys products.

For items like the tires, windows, some fine scratch removal - I use Adam's Polishes products.
For wax - I have been using Turtle Wax Ice and occasionally Adam's Butter Wax.
For the interior - I use mild soap/water on a soft cloth and occasionally some Mequires leather conditioner products.

Chadwicks is probably the easiest and best bang for the buck especially on a DD - I have been using it off and on for the past 3 years.
Been using Zaino for the past 15 years - great results on a pristine finish - more involved and time consuming than Chadwick's.
I use Griots Garage for many detailing products.
For paint correction, I started using Porter Cable, then upgraded to a Flex. Last year I purchased Griots BOSS Long Throw system and it is the best I have found (but pricy). Also use Menzerna for certain corrections.
