Default 2001 z06 forged & blown build

Hey Guys,

So back at the end of September of 2016, I had smoke beginning to come out of my breather... fun stuff. So I have been saving my pennies trying and figure out what in the world happened to my engine.

I bought my car last year with 36k on the clock- experienced failures shortly after 44k in September. I dropped it off last week to finally knock this bad boy out.

I am very excited, so excited in fact, that I wanted to start a build post (my first one).

So here we go..

The BAD stuff..... So what caused failure???
First we had a cam profile that was a little too much with the 1.7 rockers in it.... Gonna get that fixed!!!

The Victim..... So the problem was found to be 1,3,5,7 pistons CRACKED due to detonation.... Let's get this fixed.

Good News!!!! The block checked out at 3.905!
Now we wait for the head studs, misc bolts, modified LS7 lifters, Custom BTR cam, Wiseco Pistons and the Compstar's... and the Cylinder Head stuff.

HAHA, I sure hope so. My goals are to be just powerful enough for the drive line not to be rebuilt.

Clutches seem to be a polarizing topic, but I chose a traditional single disc Spec Stage 3+ with the billet steel flywheel, rated at 900+ Torque. I wanted something that won't break my leg or my bank account and also have a reasonable grab/release. I currently have the larger bored Tick Master Cylinder in the vehicle as well and will obviously be adding a remote bleeder.

Very nice! Should be a blast to drive when you get it all back together. My conversion all came from my previous 01 z06.

I went with a V2 T trim 3.47 pulley and a 10% overdrive 8 rib.

Hopefully it kicks out enough
