Maybe there’s no need for axles? Just attach those rollers to the transaxle directly?

Thanks everyone for the kind words... Bought some New foam for my seats from " RPI", and new real Leather seat skins from " Rides ". Had the old skins ( 2nd set ) for ten years. My lumbar bags stopped working so after a check, I found then to have lost their integrity ( and I could not live with that ) LOL So I bought new bladders, and decided to rebuild the seats and give then a fresh look. That shot of me talking with my neighbor was taken from one of my security cams.

Ill post some photos later

Good job buying from Ridies, they make really nice stuff with almost limitless customization. Did you do anything ‘personal’ with the design?

Big Sunday car show. Perfect chilly fall temps were a nice change from such a hot and humid summer!

My radio bezel had seen its best days long ago. I patched it up and then covered it in leather from J-F Leathers. I think it looks great and should have come from the factory like this:

Yes it should have. Is that the British company on ebay?

That does look great! Was it difficult to install? Do you think it would work with a new double-DIN radio?

You would still have to modify the opening. The double din is narrower and taller. The nice thing about doing leather with a double din is you could modify your stock bezel to prep for double din but not have to worry so much about surface texture and painting to match as you would just cover it in leather. This has been done a lot by different folks over the years from what I have gathered.

Sounds good. The DD bezels are expensive and the leather looks better. If I can modify the stock bezel then cover the whole thing with leather, that seems perfect. Just wondering if there is enough overlap for the leather to wrap around the narrower DD opening.

Yes, it is the company on ebay.

It was not difficult. It does require being very attentive to alignment. You cannot move the leather cover around after contact for alignment. I used Dap Weldwood Contact Cement brush on method.

The cover would not fit a double din the way it is cut. The Company does respond very quickly to questions via Ebays message system. It would just involve them not cutting out the center sections providing you keep the bottom access door.

here is a picture I borrowed from another thread of the way the skin comes from the company:

Thanks Zachaeous
I did message the company and they responded within minutes! On a Sunday!
I'm really just planning ahead but it looks like this would be the perfect solution. I can modify the stock bezel using some of the pointers from forum members, then ask j-f-customs to send a skin without the cutouts for radio & HVAC. Perfect!

I used JF customs for a lot of my stuff. I dethreaded the controls area on my custom setup and vinyl wrapped that area instead. The leather would be too thick to wrap around controls in my situation

Nice work Tom. Did you get the door panels and upper dash from them too? You said < dethreaded>, how did you remove the center section without losing the stitiching you wanted to keep?
What process did you follow to remove the HVAC and radio control bezels that allowed you to mount them directly to the main bezel?

Put it away for the winter. Thanks to a shoulder injury, a whopping 300 miles on it this year. Oh well...maybe next year.

Drove it last night for the first time with the new Radioflyer Bi-Xenon Headlights and all I can say is WOW. I went from a couple of old flashlights to laser beams! Truly a superior product, easy but detailed installation and all of the cheap fixes I had tried previous were no comparison. Nighttime driving is now a pleasure. Very highly recommended!!! Thanks George!
