Waved at a C6 this morning. No return wave!!
While heading to work this morning I saw a C6 approaching from the opposite direction. Was pretty far off so I had plenty of time to prep for a wave. As the distance closed I gave him my best wave. Waited for the response. None..nada.....zip........zilch.
It was then that I realized I was in my Subaru Imprezza Outback. Ooops.

The nerve of that C6 owner not waving at a Subaru owner.

I have to admit--the Corvette community is a very strong group.
More waves are returned than the other automotive groups I have been in the past. Only motorcyclists have the same willingness to wave back it seems.

I tried waving to a c5 the other day in the wife's daily needless to say I didn't get a return wave but I don't think he was looking in my direction either.

I was not prepared for all the waves when I first started driving my Z. Really caught me off guard...aaaannnnd then I felt like an ******* for not returning. When I had my rat rod I'd get waves from all the hardcore Harley riders....and dirty looks from most other drivers. lol

My brother who also has a C5 told me about the wave before I purchased my Vette, then I saw it for my own eyes, pretty cool indeed.
I do notice that the 60's Vettes and its owners are not as responsive to newer Vettes. Perhaps it is just what I have noticed,

I live in Westchseter County NY. On The CT side.(near CT). Have been out every weekend for the past 3. Have yet to see another Vette. So far this season. Except for my neighbor/friend who has a C7.

Way back in the days when I had a customized chevy van, all the vans with teardrop windows in back and murals on the sides would do the wave with a power fist. Ahh the 70's...

I had the biggest sense of pride last year when I got my C5 (first Corvette!). Within a couple weeks, I had a the owner of a beautiful C7 Z06 wave on the road. Then, a few months after, I walked out of a store to find myself parked next to another C7 Z06. Perfect picture opportunity.

Me too
I'm new, so I did not know vette owners had a wave. Use to ride Harleys and knew of the HD wave. I perfected my own wave. Left arm out down low make a fist then thumb up. Got copied and past around till it was almost a standard, locally.
Had my C6 about a week and driving and waving my butt off to the brethren.

The wave breakdown as I see it. If I'm in my C5 other C5's wave back, C6's sometimes, C7's never wave back. If I'm in my C3 all other Vettes wave back. If I'm in my C4 only C4 Vettes wave back. On my Harley, other Harley's about 80% wave back. Goldwings only wave at other Goldwings. If I'm on my Aprillia Tuono seems all other bike wave back, including Harley's. I get nothing from other Camaro's when I'm in my ZL1. Life is weird.
