Will my exhaust set up be "too loud"?
So I did check this forum to see if I can find this exhaust set up that I am going for and nothing has shown up. I'm doing TSP long tube headers with TSP (non catted) X-pipe and then borla's straight pipe exhaust. My Z is not my daily driver. So I'm not too concerned on it being too loud. I just am really hoping that it will sound good. Wondering if anyone can chime in on this? If it is too loud I can swap the TSP x pipe for a resonated borla x pipe. I supplied a pic of which borla piece I am talking about because not too many people seem to have this piece.
*update:
Did some more digging and it seems like it's called the Borla XR-1 exhaust setup. So I guess the new question is do I keep the borla Xr-1 set up with tsp long tubes. Or do I put the new x-pipe for tsp on. Sorry for confusion!

It will be ear piercing loud. I did longtubes no cats with the straight pipes and sold it a few months later. The drone between 1200 and 1600 (where you will be most of the time) was too much and you cant hear yourself think.

Sounds like you will be one step away from open headers. I love a good exhaust note, but louder isn't always better.

I ram headers and straight pipes for a while but you are in trouble
on the interstate. Unbearable noise. I ended up with a small
Magnaflow muffler(2),not the catback. Just a small muffler
before the x-pipe. You still make plenty of noise and everyone
can hear you 3 blocks away but it is bearable.
Good luck.

I must have the worlds quietest straight pipe setup. Until over 80 I don't have any real drone, all I hear is tire noise from my 30k mile continentals. I have long tube headers, catless x (that have small resonators) and borla straight pipes. It isn't quiet, but it doesn't drone almost at all, only at like 2100 rpm. There's another one with some harder accelerations if you want a reference to how it sounds inside the car.
Not too loud at all on the 1500 mile round trip down into Florida, scroll down to about halfway and you can see how well the drone kept my wife awake.

Anything much louder than stock is not really that cool anymore. Quiet is much faster than loud when not on a track. That's why I have to baby my Camaro, but my C5 running stock exhaust, it's hammer down anytime I want.

Long tube headers with a catless x-pipe and Borla XR-1 exhaust will make your neighbors hate you and get you pulled over often.

Here's a lil rev video I did a couple yrs ago with some buddies goofing off in the background.. it's perty damned loud, but I love it.. this video truly doesn't do it justice (crappy camera mic)
Borla straights
Magnaflow X (catless)

:*****Well you guys got me pretty worried now. But I'm assuming if it's umbearable I can throw the stock catback back on. And maybe add a resonator in there somehow. Right?

It will be pretty red neck... but I guess that's what some people go in for.
I'd suggest a Ti Axleback section instead of the straights.
