Default Freakin' Potholes.....made my radio stop ?

First hit a decent pothole on the left side of the car... few minutes later hit one so hard on right side (didnt even see it, too dark at night) that my radio stopped for a split second... anyone had this happen?

I immediately checked for bent rim and golf sized swollen shapes on the tires, but nothing.. I may have lucked out. Steering wheel straight line driving test passes.. doesn't swerve to left or right.

if anything.. these cars are built like tanks...but my goodness, that 2nd pothole shook me, and my radio..

Thankfully I have not hit a pothole that hard. Hope I never do. You were lucky to not have damaged either the wheel or a tire if it hit that hard.

Lucky for me, everything stays fairly new paved. And I'm too far south for snow plow formed potholes and too far north for awful hot humid weather. Woot. Good luck... maybe don't drive at night? Or is this a daily.

I'd check the inner wheel/tire as well, just to be sure.

I've hit a pothole last year in my avalanche going 65 on interstate i79 that literally wiped out my wheel bearing in one shot . Heard an awful noise rotating after that ..You really gotta watch

If you were playing a CD, quite understandable. They'll skip if jolted hard enough or tilted more than a couple degrees.

Didnt see it makes a case for better headlights

They're bad around here especially after winter... hit one the other day in my daily driver (GTI) and bent my rim + bulge in my tire.

If it happens call the city or state DOT. Alot of the times they will replace your wheel/tire because it is their responsibility to fix the potholes. I knew a guy in MN that hit a pothole with his vette and ruined the tire and the state paid to replace it.

Michigan is the only state I've driven in where some of it's roads are made up completely of filled pot holes...why do they let their roads get so bad before they resurface them?

Michigan has the best trucking lobby in the nation and allow much higher weights than any other state. It is not uncommon to see a 42 wheeler on the road. That along with the heavy use of salt and freeze/thaw cycle we have all winter makes for easy break up of concrete, also being over the largest salt mines in the world makes getting salt very cheap.

Thats generous.

Last time I checked, VA considered it a "road hazard, oh well, too bad for you"

I hit a pothole last week and now have a persistent Service abs, traction control, and active handling. You were lucky
