Wasted Sunday Afternoon
I replaced all of my interior lights with LEDs last year. All was well until the light behind the Fuel / Gages area of the DIC began to randomly flicker at times, whether moving or not. Sent a message to my vendor who sent me a replacement light right away, no questions asked.
So, as some of you know, the process of taking out the gauge cluster can be a time consuming PITA, especially to replace 1 tiny LED light. I spent a better part of the afternoon today doing just that. Tested the light that came out and it appeared fine and still worked, but I replaced it anyway and reassembled the dash, console, etc.. I was pleased that I didn't have any left over screws this time and didn't have to repeat the process. The new light worked fine when parked in the garage so I figured I would do a test drive just to make sure all was well.
The new light started flickering a few minutes into my drive . Doesn't matter if the car is moving or stopped, the light flickers at random. I suppose my next move is to buy a used DIC switch and swap it. If anybody has a better idea, please advise.

Now you see it...
Now you don't
Anyone have an idea other than a faulty DIC switch? Anyone?

It most likely is not making solid contact with the metal contacts where the bulb screws in. I have the same problem on my door switch - bulb socket just not tight enough to hold the bulb contacts together solidly.

Another Sunday afternoon, but NOT wasted at all.
Just following-up on this in case other CF members ever have this issue. The LED light in the Fuel / Gages area continued to flicker and the light behind the Trip / Options eventually began to follow suit until I remedied the situation (below).
I replaced the DIC Switch itself and replaced all of the DIC and HUD LED lights since I had the dash apart. That fixed the problem.
The old DIC Switch appeared to have loose metal contacts for the lights, but the replacement switch contacts were solid. The new LEDs were from a different vendor and appeared to be a better quality than what I initially had.
