Default Suggested amendment to the Third Corvette Commandment

Upon learning that one can flash the fog lamps on non Z06 C5 I am hereby suggesting that the Third Commandment of the Ten Commandments be altered.

Possibly it should include some wording that allows a driver to flash the fog lamps at an oncoming Vette. This is a lot easier to do than a wave. And much more visible.

For me it harkens back to my early days when I owned an E Type Jaguar. Upon seeing another E Type we would flash the high beams in order to say hello.

Regardless if the commandment is modified or not. I will be flashing my fog lamps at oncoming Vettes from now on. A wave will be used when next to a Vette.

You flash your lights at me, I'm thinking there's a speed trap up ahead.

May have to phase it in. Start by just lifting 3 instead of 4 fingers off the steering wheel. That would result in a 25% drop in energy expenditure.

Wait a minute... how the hell do you flash the fog lamps? Are you talking about when your headlights are already flipped up?

When I see flashing lights I don't care what they're driving they're getting a wave for possibly saving me from a ticket.

But there is a problem that C7 owners in particular don't wave. I guess Chevy has been successful in widening the Corvette market so there are lots of owners who are not enthusiasts - and probably driving leased automatics......

Some of us do indeed wave....

Fog lights will turn on/off if the parking light are on.

Perhaps OP runs with parking lights on for added visibility, in turn making it very easy to hit the button to flash oncoming traffic?

With the lights down:

Momentarily pull the turn signal lever toward you.
The high-beam indicator will flash to indicate to the other driver that you intend to pass.
The fog lamps will flash:
If the low-beam headlamps are off and,
You have the optional fog lamps on.

The above is from a owners manual, however I believe the fogs will flash, with the headlights down, regardless if you have the fogs on. I will have to check on my own, but I have a harness that allows me to have highs, lows, and fogs on at the same time.

I think it is a case by case thing as I have actually been surprised at the number of C7 Vette owners who wave. In fact I had a white C7 Z06 pull next to me at a light and the guy kept going on about how nice my '01 SW Z was. I was sure to tell him I'd trade in a second but that was pretty

Say what?

I have a C-5 and a C-7 and I wave, and have been waving at other Vettes since the early 60'S, when I drove a C-2.

Fogs flash when you pull back on the multiswitch when headlights are down.

Common thing in the 70s and 80s warning about speed traps
nowadays flashing lights can get ya shot, gang members see that as a challenge
