LED problem, 2003 C5 Coupe (Merged)
Hi All,
I decided to replace the DRL bulbs with LED's because they were also melting my lenses. So I installed the hyperflash unit after the ignition as the instructions called for. This fixed the hyperflash problem, but now the blinker indicators stay dimly lit and I have a drain on my battery whenever I use the blinkers or use the brakes! The battery drops from 14.4 to 13.5 in a matter of seconds! Any ideas?
Thanks!

You posted this same question over a week ago and I asked you where you got the harness and lights from - you never answered any of us that responded to your thread.
I asked because I've learned the hard way that not all LEDs are created equal. If you buy cheap LEDs from an unknown auction site vendor you are much more likely to have issues than with a premier vendor.
So, if you actually follow up on this thread - I would suggest that you purchase some LEDs or LED switchbacks that come with the harness that plugs into your old burnt harness after you disconnect the battery and spray some QD Electronic Spray into the old harness. Then plug in and reconnect your battery.

Flipping the bulbs won't fix the issue, they only work one way. I would disconnect the battery and clean the area where the bulb or harness plugs into the old harness really good With QD Electronic Spray cleaner and reconnect everything or resort back to the old bulbs.

If there is an excessive drain on the battery then that suggest a near short to ground or a very week battery. It makes me wonder if there is some corrosion or something conductive stuck in the socket. Maybe the leads on the base of the bulb got crossed.

Be careful I had to replace my sockets because of age and one of the sockets was wired wrong and gave me the FITS for a few days until I took a multimeter and verified the leads watch where you get the socket and harness from......

I'm a huge fan of a certain switchback LED.
It stays a nice bright white until you turn on the flasher then flashes amber only. The day time light is amber and when you turn on the headlights or driving lights they are white.

Are your sockets AC delco's? I ask because I ran into an issue with a non OEM socket that worked fine for bulbs but did not for the LED's......
