C5 vs. C6 Corvette Comparison Video
I have had my C5 for 4 years and love it! Recently I have been thinking about getting a C6. I put together this video as part of my analysis to figure out if I just have an itch - or if the C6 is better for me.
Making this video has been helpful to me.
Take a look and please give your feedback/ideas/and suggestions.

Always a matter of taste and opinion, but I would give the front, side and rear view to the C5. The snubbed off front of the C6 looks like the predecessor to the C5 and the hidden headlights on the C5 look much sleeker. The side views of both look good if you don't account for the front and rear extremities. The back of the C6 looks like they started with the license plate and designed the whole rear end around it and the oval lights on the C5 look much better as well.
Interior layout and size of the C5 interior is better, but suffers from lower quality materials.
Performance of the C6 is obviously better, but if you only drive around town (like me), the added power is of little use (especially with the street conditions where I live, and little hope of them improving in my lifetime).
I have had 10 new Corvettes over the years and the C6 is the only one I have never had any interest in. They could put 2,000 HP in it and it still looks like a step backward from the C5 to me.
The C6 looks like any other little race car to me, the C5 is "sex" on wheels. C5 looks more like an "exotic" where the C6 looks more like a Dodge Viper. I can spot a C5 out of the corner of my eye, most of the time I don't even recognize a C6 as a Corvette until I am on top of it.

Non-Wide Body (base model) C6 = Mediocre looking
Wide Body C6 (Z06 & Grand Sport) = Beautiful car

I like the simplicity of the C5. You can get plenty more HP out of the LS1/6. The interior can be updated as well. I have an android head unit so it has plenty of technical features.
I think the C6 looks stubby to me. It is taller, more narrow and shorter in length.
I am not a fan of some of the colors it came in. They could have stuck with more traditional paint colors.

I definitely prefer the C5 but listening to you on the video, the C6 is what you prefer. The only thing I like on the C6 over the C5 would be the extra HP.

One thing about the interiors, the C6 doesn't have the traditional dual arches on the dash like the C5 and earlier models had. That, and the non-hide away headlights wander too far from tradition for me...

Not a bad review in your video, but in all honesty, and just my own personal opinion - the only C6s that I really would want over a C5 is a Z06/GS/ZR1. The wide body look just makes the car that much more attractive to me.
I'm coming up on 8 years with my current C5 and I had my previous C5 for 7.5 years so something about it just keeps me excited about the car.

Beauty is skin deep. C6 performance and handling cannot be matched by the C5. I have a C5 and probably will keep it for a good many years because I like the car. But comparing the two based on looks alone is a superficial affair.

Have to agree with you about the awful looking c6 headlights! One thing that I noticed is the one c6 front nose photo..the styling to me sure resembles quite a few other sport cars (Miata comes to mind, and a few others). Whereas the c5 is unique.

They are really disgusting.

I not going to say anything about the C6 but I will about changing the pop up headlight that is way so cool and uniqueness of the c5. Easy to upgrade fix the pop up when needed the upgrades look so ugly .. I think anyone change them are partially castrating their c5 lol.. I looking to find chrome bezel for my popup headlights.. I upgraded to steel gears that work flawlessly.. love them..

Why would they get rid of the code display functionality? That's pretty much the coolest feature ever. Does that mean the C5 Corvette is the only car in history with a built in code display unit?

It it would take a c6z to outrun a slightly modded c5z alone. An Ls2 car can't outperform an ls6 car despite the better torque
