Default Square Stance-ish questions and tire size help..

Hi all,

I am running Z06 Speedlines (17" front. 18" rear currently) and am planning to get a set of the rear 18 inch rims to run up front.

Are there 10" and 10.5" rear rims? Just want to be sure either would fit (is there any good way figure out what I already have in the rear.. is there a way to measure correctly?).

Now once I get the 18" rims for up front I need to pick tires. I have 295/35/18 Nitto Invo's out back (brand new). What is the right size for up front? I can get matching Nitto Invo's in 265/35/18. Will this size work fine? (I do not think I want 295/35/18's up front).

Also if anyone has photos of this set up 265/35/18 front and 295/35/18 rear that would be great.

All factory C5 Z06 rear wheels are 18x10.5. I run a square setup as do many others on the site, personally I run 295/35 on all four corners and have never had an active handling issue.

10.5" only
265 is a bit narrow for a 10.5" wheel, but fits the stagger requirement better; 275 is nicer/better IMO, but only offers 0.55" difference which is cutting it close. Ideally I'd go 275/305-35-18's (and likely will one day), but as you already have new rears...

I run the 18x10.5 on all 4 corners. 275/35/18 front and 295/35/18 rears (base convertible). No issues at all. The fronts stick out ever so slightly, but not enough for me to worry about.

You can run what ever size wheels you want but to avoid TC issues you want to have the overall diameter of the rear tires be 1/2" to 1 1/2" larger than the overall diameter of the front wheels. If you don't retain the stagger you will need to turn OFF TC each time you start the car. Some members have gotten away with same size tires front and rear but most don't and end up with TC stepping in when they don't want it to.
.
Actually guys have been running square stance for about 4+ years .. same size rims and tires front and rear with no issues.

Good point I'll bump up to the 275's.

I just did this upgrade, rear wheels at all 4 corners and 275/295 PSS's. I had the same size tires in stock 17/18" wheels with NT05's and no rubbing either.

Anyone running this tire size with OEM Z06 wheels 10.5 all around a picture from the rear of the car to see what it looks like. Thanks.

I ran a 295/35 up front and 315/35 in rear. I now run a 275/35 in the front and a 305/35 in the rear. Toyo r888s. The 275 r888 is actually wider on the rim than the 295 potenza that was on it before. Never had any issues with tc or ah and I think anyone saying it's a problem hasn't ran a square or close to square setup

Thanks for the info. I want to run 275 and 295 on my Z06 OEM wheels. Just wanted to see some pics from others. Thanks for the info.

I don't understand the benefit of using 18" wheels front and rear. It looks funny to me to not have a staggered size. Maybe for road racers?

Sort of agree. Staggering front and rear using tire sizes is better IMO though. The 17" wheels with taller sidewalls than rear doesn't look good to me.
Just doesn't look right having more meat up front.

Yep, 18x10.5 on all four corners seems to be the most popular setup for road courses. My fronts poke out just a hair, like you see in Danh52's post above, even with lots of camber. That's with 295/30/18 tires, which is perfectly square on the 10.5" wheels. I agree that it looks a little funny. With a 10" wheel and a 285 tire it would probably be perfectly flush (make sure the offset doesn't go lower than +58... better yet +65 or so).

For daily driving on cheaper tires I just got (today) an 18x8.5 and 19x10 setup. Haven't put them on the car yet but I'm looking forward to not poking out of the fenders anymore.

The Spec Corvette series runs 18x10.5 on all four corners, with 315/30/18 tires, so their Facebook page has quite a few pics of that setup.

I think Danh52’s yellow Z06 with the 275/35/18 on the front look good from the picture and there on oem 10.50 wheels. Also he looks like he is lowered.

Lots of benefit for road racers, such as being able to rotate the tires and much wider front tires for grip. I use 10.5x18 all around as well with 295/30/18 Toyo R888R's. They stick out a bit, but I couldn't care less how it looks and neither do most road racers. Function over form.

No no issues whatsoever from Active Handling or Traction Control.

Only reason I'd do it is if I wanted C6Zo6 brakes and didn't want to buy aftermarket wheels.

I run 18x11 Forgelines with 315/30-18 at all 4 corners. These cars look awesome with 315's all the way around. On the street, I run the C5Z rears with 315's at all 4 corners. No issues with either setup.

With running the C5Z rears which are 10.5 inches don’t the 315’s stick out much in the front? Any pics with them?
