2002 Z06 weighs 3004lbs on my scales, with 1/4 tank and mods
Current car has:
AR Longtubes
Xpipe
BB quad bullets
Vararam
Custom offset forgestars 18x11 with 295 PSS
C6Z brakes 4 corners
Pfadt featherlights
oconnel sways front and rear
Interior stock
Nothing removed for reduction
Car will gain some weight with some aero additions I have.
I'm going to document the weight reduction strategy I move forward with. I want to sacrifice no comfort, so radio, ac, etc all stays. This won't be a "traditional" weight reduction scheme. So, I will document it here, moving forward. I've done extensive projects like this in the past, using various techniques. Corvette is challenging due to the space frame construction, so I am going to explore a bit.
As a side note, my gf just bought her first Corvette, a 2009 6spd base model. 1/2 tank, her car weighed in at 3189.

Seats would be a traditional method, but yes, seats are a must. I had some seats for it, but I sold them as I decided I wanted something a little more comfortable than a dedicated track seat. I want a combo of support, but with comforat and ingress/egress...with a sub requirement of affordability. I have some ideas, and fabricating seats from scratch is one of them. I have 70ft of heavy twill carbon...I may. I've made custom seats in the past.
It will come down to time vs cost for me...whichever I have more available at that stage.

The headers and x pipe make a huge difference in weight. I dropped quite a bit doing the full exhaust, although unless you go with straight pipes its going to be hard pressed to get an axle back lighter than the stock one. Keep us posted on your weight loss journey!
Side note, your girlfriend drives a 6 speed LS3 car? She single?

This'll be a fun post to watch.
There's another post here somewhere about stages of weight reduction, will try to find it.
I have also considered DIY seats, but will likely buy something already made one day.
As for weight, for 2 reasons IMO, you should weigh with a full tank. 1; it's standard weigh-in procedure, keep apples to apples compared to other cars. 2; how much exactly is a 1/4 tank, a few gallons +/- weighs quite a bit, hard to get a proper baseline and consistent numbers.

I'll have to weigh mine now next time I'm at the track. Mine has stock wheels, the LT's and x pipe should drop some weight, those stock manifolds and x pipe were heavy.

You should throw done Rival S tires on it and autocross it in the SCCA CAM-S class and hang with a bunch of kool guys and gals. It'll be the most fun anyone can have with their clothes on.

She loves it though...says its everything she has ever wanted from a car. She's had a good number of modded cars over the years that I put together with her.

I'm about to get to it shortly. I am fabbin up some pad levelers here shortly, with rolloff area. Want to get everything all level, weighed and then start moving forward. I'm going to be adding some weight to the car with aero, but I'm looking to drop some key pounds. I also realized i have bunch of crap in the trunk when I weighed it, so it's under 3k.

My 2002 Z06 set up for autocross in SSP class. 3158 lbs with full tank. nothing removed from interior yet, changed seats to Corbeau Sprtline Evolution X. & Shark Bar harness setup, Lg 1.75 long tube headers & X-pipe, no CATS, Borla S-Type exhaust, stock brake calipers, added a 10" tall aluminum spoiler, 10.5 x 18 Speedline wheels with 315-30 Hoosier A7's at all four corners . Delrin suspension bushings, hollow sway bars, Koni yellow sport shocks, AGM OEM size battery.
I know there is weight savings to be found within the rules and at some point I will begin to take advantage off all I can.
At 260 lbs the most to be saved would be for me to go on a diet!
