I use the 7002 in the Corvette and the 3300 in the Toyota but I could use either one in either cars. I use the 7002 plugged in in the console outlet since it's on all the time like the cigarette lighter. Can't do that on the Toyota, have to have it hooked to the battery.

I was unskilled in my buying decision, I knew very little about battery chargers, still don't, but gathered this brand was tops, so I got one. What I couldn't figure was the model I needed.
I went with the 4.3 model because I saw it on the web with a corvette badge and sold as a GM corvette specific product. I am very happy with the product, works perfectly and has a superior design quality in use.
Now, with a little more thought into my issues, I might have made a better choice going with the model that has a battery tender, the mus 7200, as recommended by the manufacturer of the battery that I am considering. I have never needed a battery tender before on my C5, but I know a lot of guys report they use them. Knowing of that feature might have effected my buying decision , had I known the product line better.
I think I will be fine with the 4.3.

I just picked up my second C5 a few days ago. I have never had a battery tender/battery charger on a car to maintain battery power/so it won't drain.
I picked up a battery tender from Wal-Mart but the eyelets have a knub on them that will not allow the battery terminal to sit flush/tightten down to the battery like it should. If that makes sense....
So here I am, researching.
This may be a stupid question but how does the battery get charged by using the cigarette lighter port?
Which model would you recommend for my car? It's a weekender/toy and not a daily driven vehicle.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

Congrats on the new ride
Check out the US3300 - I have several of them and they are great for basic battery
charging and maintenance
The cig adapter is simple plug and play, just connect it to the charger and then
plug into the cig outlet
