Default How much $ for labor on a Ls2 swap??

what do you guys think would be a fair price for an ls2 swap? Also installing a new clutch, new slave and tick master cylinder and remote clutch fluid bleeder. Engine is fully assembled

I had a mechanic quote me 2K but ive heard people pay between $1200-$1500.

Fellow memebers that have gone through a swap please chime in!

I replaced my engine. It takes about 15-20 man hours so I will agree with what you have been quoted.

In my area mechanics charge about $110/ man hour. Some areas are as low as $50.

x2 on 2k+-
must be location dependent?
Just to have someone swap a motor in/out of an 02 truck which is super easy averaged $1500. I was floored

Not only are the prices high, the really good shops are too busy to take on time consuming work. I will travel to have work done.

That's also why you can't get a accurate price from the forum. A shop with Corvette specific experience that is all set up may take half the time as a general purpose shop. They may only charge half as much per hour in a rural area compared to one in the city.

Depends on what else he has to do... wiring? any upgrades? Tune? 2000k would be cheap for a turn key solution..

Let me check my records that came with the car. My uncle kept everything and he swapped the LS1 with an LS6 in 2003 then he installed an LS2 in 2009. The work was done in Dallas and I can get you the numbers but it was a while ago so I'm sure things are a bit different now.

I dont want to factor in a tune because I already have my own tuner and My Ls2 has an Ls3 top end with and a TSP cam so engine is ready to go. The only wiring that has to be done would be the reluctor wheel converter box.

Engladgreen in Houston quoted me 3K!!! So needless to say I feel like 2k is very reasonable..

Wow! 2 million dollars (said in his best Austin Powers voice) is quite a price for installing a motor.........
