Default C5 Exhaust Mod Bypass Installation Video

I ditched my Borla due to an unacceptable level of drone. Follow along as in install the infamous C5 Exhaust Mod Bypass as a less aggressive sounding alternative - I hope...

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear that you experienced drone with one of our C5 systems. When the C5 Corvette first came out, we released aggressive sounding systems for it, but they did drone... They were very popular systems, however, we recognized the fact that a lot of our customers wanted an aggressive sounding system that did NOT drone. That said, we went back and designed new systems for the C5 using newer technology to eliminate the drone. This newer technology is what we now use in all of our exhaust systems.

If you take a look at what we offer for the C5 on our website, you will see "S-Type Classic" systems, an "S-Type II" system, & an "ATAK" system... https://www.borla.com/chevy-corvette...haust-systems/

S-Type Classic = Older Systems
S-Type II = Newer System (NO drone)
ATAK = Newer System (NO drone)

We still sell the "S-Type Classic" systems because they are still popular, but we always recommend the "S-Type II" & "ATAK" systems to those that do NOT want drone.

Customer satisfaction is very important to us and so is addressing drone. If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at 1-877-462-6752 (Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm PST).

Thank you for your time.

Take care,

Kudos to Borla and Ms. Carter for caring enough and taking the time to acknowledge and clarify the exhaust options and solutions available. It's good to see a manufacturer take the time answer a concern or issue regarding one of their products.

I look forward to hearing part II of the video.

Seems clear Borla became aware of the drone issue and too care of it.

Exhaust sound is one of the most common topics on the Corvette Forum.

Bumping this one because it is one of the best low dollar options to change the way your C5 sounds. Plus this thread includes a response from a Borla rep that talks about which of their systems drone & which do not.

If I were to do this mod today with a stock C5, I would make the bypass tubes slightly larger.

Cheers.

Looks good but if I have aftermarket exhaust(obx exhaust) will it make it louder or will the aftermarket exhaust be better to keep?

Since I haven't noticed in any other thread....does this mod provide any performance gains, or does it just change the tone/ sound of the exhaust? Thanks-
