Default Radio Antenna

Hello everyone, newbie here. I just bought a 99 Black Convert and the antenna wont go down unless I push down on it a bit while my wife turns the key off. Im assuming the internal gear has lost a cog or something. Should I buy the AC Delco replacement part or will the aftermarket ones work. Also on the drivers side exterior door the wire mesh insert is missing...where is the best place to buy that part. Thanks in advance. Rocky

I bought a replacement mast off ebay and it has worked great for the last 4 years. It is not recommended to oil or wax the mast.

Put the antenna down and disconnect at the motor inside trunk right rear panel. Radio is perfect with out the antenna
