Default Repair and paint match

Hello all. My 98 has a small "tear" in the below the right corner off the passenger side turn signal. I viewed plastic weld type repair videos and am wondering if this is the best approach. The paint is in pretty good shape as it has been garage kept and covered all its life. I'm concerned about paint matching the medium purple metallic. Thoughts and suggestions are welcomed! Thanks for your consideration.

That's got to be a super rare color. Still, I would think a good paint shop could blend it up and then just do a little area blending it in. The only problem could be paint fade since she is 19 years old.

Just got mine back from the shop with pewter metallic from a dear hit and it is not cheap but they did a great job in matching my 2002 color so you should be able to get it blended in so it can't be seen. Good luck with it!!

Automotivetouchup.com is the online go-to for exact factory color matched paint.

Another good option is to find a "Sherwin Williams Automotive" paint store near you.

you hit your spouse with your car? Ouch.

OP, go somewhere that has a lifetime guarantee on their paint match, that way you can be sure they will get it right.

Just to stop the confusion it was a four legged deer. The "dear" hit would have been even more expensive!!

A good body shop can usually match paint very well.

I've said it in a few threads but modern paint work is pretty incredible if it's quality work. I had to have a new fender and a door color changed to Nassau Blue (also a metallic) and the shop I took it to did an exceptional job and even went as far as matching up the peel in the blend work. You literally cannot tell what has been painted and I've put every light imaginable to it to match adjacent panels; sunlight, LED, ultraviolet, on and on.

The thing is though, you'll pay for it to be done right. I was shocked how much just those two panels cost, but thankfully it wasn't my money.

Yea I was shocked to see how much paint cost. When I picked up my car the shop had just received 3 (three) quarts of color paint and they showed me the invoice from their supplier in town and it was $800 and some dollars for the 3, that isn't cheap for sure.
