2001 C5 Convertible-Front Speaker on bumps shuts down
Okay just purchased a 2001 C5 Corvette convertible. Finding out when I turn on the car both front speakers work fine..but when I hit a bump the passenger speaker goes out. I can barely hear the tweeter and no bass. I purchased a refurbished speaker and installed... same issue. I've wiggled wires and even opened the wires and checked the "scotch connection" for the orange 12V wires to be sure. IF I turn car off and turn back on the speaker works again... but shuts down about a minute later... almost like its overheating so it shuts off. I haven't pulled the Deck to see if I have loose wires, but even in the garage the right speaker goes out with absolutely no wires or any touch of any kind. I don't know if I need to change the processor or if my wires within the door and dash need to be pulled... any help would be appreciated.

- If it is working and you hit a bump
- After a brief period, even if your car isn't moving

If it's a "stock" system, it's very strange as the bass and tweeter both have different amps. The bass (8" woofer) has it's own amp and the twidder (3.5" speaker) is powered by the head units amp. Very weird that both would go out at same time. But, that being said, there is a connection in the doors rubber boot. It is a large molex connector that has many pins. If it got loose, it would affect both speakers. Though, it would not explain the "overheating" issue you speak of. Hmmmnnn....
