Like a CARFAX, but free...
In my recent search for a C5, I stumbled across this site because I am too cheap to pay for a single or multiple CARFAX reports... It seems to give you all the same information plus a lot more. Thought I would pass it along.

These reports don't show any accidents or repairs, only registration renewals and recalls/TSBs. I checked a couple other cars of mine which I have seen fender benders on the carfax or autocheck. It shows nothing on this report. Personally I use autocheck.

You get what you pay for. I see recall information but no indication if recall was performed. Also useless warranty expiration information. I guess the mileage indication is useful but it's free and free is good.

Strange... I've had a few C5 Z's that I have been looking at where I checked with research.com and also had my buddy who owns a dealership, check with his CARFAX also. Nothing really different shows up. Two of the cars I was looking at did in fact report an accident with a full accident report listed as well.

I have 2004 automatic. Everything that I have read suggests that there is no steering lock problem with this car and I have had no problem. This info suggests that there was a problem.

WHY?
Well my car was involved in an accident and it shows on carfax but not on www.research.com
Don't loose your money on a Lemon, Flood car, or car that had some major damage etc.

You know it's actually funny...
To all of you who say it doesn't show accidents. I actually just ran the VIN on my 2006 GMC Sierra 2500HD to see. CARFAX didn't show any accidents with the truck when I went to buy it, however one does show up on the Research.com report.

Hey Guys,
This site is good for details about a car - but it does NOT report accident history accurately at all.
I just checked out (2) VINs of Vettes for sale, that the owners admitted an accident - and BOTH showed up with zero accident history...
If memory serves me correctly, this site only goes back 15 years...so if an accident occurred more than 15 years ago (which is possible for 02 C5s and earlier)...than it wont show in their report.
